and going on the browser to run HBL ain't a hassle for me, so what is the REAL difference.

If you don't mind doing the browser exploit, then there's nothing else you need to worry about or do. Some of us got sick of doing the browser exploit so we bought a ds game that let's us install haxchi over it and you can run it without using the browser.
