Hacking What is the difference between CFW and HFW

I heard on another post that HEN bypassed the need for .rap files for PSN games. Awhile back there was a CFW from MiraLaTijera that did the same thing.

I havent gone into much research as I am just picking up on homebrew again for the PS3 but can anyone clarify if my assumptions are accurate or not? Thanks indvance

can't bypass rap. it's impossible. rap keys are unique to each content. the only reason edats work is because edats use a generic key that only requires content id. themes on the ps4 are the same way.

btw, fixes are bullshit. you need the rap file to decrypt the game, then you make it free. I know exactly how to do that, and only an idiot would think that's hacking. the apps to do that are readily available, but why bother when you just can inject the rap? you have to fix all encrypted files and every patch. pointless unless you're stupid. and, also, some of those "fixes" contain idps stealers. I know exactly who's stealing your info, but I guess free games are more important to some people.

It's kinda like how I have my PS4s running on 9.00 HEN, I'd say. I'm happy with this and will install HEN on my PS3s.

I should purchase 1TB HDDs because 80GB/120GB can hardly store much.

Edit: I read that a HEN PS3 can be turned into a perma CFW console though it seems only experts can go through the process. Sounded very complicated.
