Hacking What FW to use

Yeah, that's the latest English version available. There's a Japanese version 1.12+X, but it's region-locked and won't run on US/EUR M3 Reals.

those are auto-boot roms.
name a rom to defaultY/X.nds, on boot hold the Y/X button, and m3sakura will boot the rom before loading the entire firmware.

If you use homebrew more, get the m3 real firmware.
if you use roms more, get the sakura firmware.
I like sakura a lot better, but if I need to boot homebrew I use M3 Real.

I would prefer just to use one as well, the problem with that is I love me some homebrew. If you don't use homebrew, use sakura. If you do use homebrew, Use either M3 real, or you can do what I do, use the triple loader firmware, and just boot into M3 real when you want to run homebrew...

No. At least it has never happened before, and I don't see how it could.

I've found it to be quite stable once I got used to it.....

I don't think damage could really happen to the card unless you physically abused it.
