Who says they can’t? They don’t have to give the new controllers the false dpad to support local multiplayer.

When you play local multiplayer in marioparty you have to use a single joycon. If the left one actually had a Dpad would you want to use it?

Yeah, it just feels so gimmick and pointless. If people want a second controller to play for party mode or whatever, buy it don't punish the rest of us all with stupid buttons than a real d-pad.

I would be there on day one if it was a 3D or VR focused Switch 2
