Normal and even then some of the stages are kinda hard.

Idk if this is my game only but WoL only has "easy" and "normal" available on your first playthrough. I'm doing normal and some events are actually pretty darn difficult *cough* ban Incineroar *cough*

and Level 9 CPU's is the only way to go. I've already played against each character and developed my own CPU tier list (King K Rool is at the top, sorry, sad, slap-me-around sap Megaman is at the bottom)

If there's some kind of Hard Mode unlock for WoL, i'm going to do that with no spirits or any kind of assistance at all. That'll be the ultimate challenge for me, unless All-Star is even more difficult

Kirby is my favourite character... And you know why? Because he can fly up when you are falling off. (Yes, the most of the times I die because I fall ).

Looks like you are new to the game? you can always double jump and press B + up depend on the character.

you will git gud in no time, just focus on one character you like and learn when to use all the moves and keep fighting until you bleed, level 9 will be easy.

cpu at lvle 9 is a must for me too. Their reaction time is almost flawless
