Hey!

I'm in the mood for some beat 'em ups, but it seems the DS is a bit lacking in this aspect... Can you make some suggestions?

I already finished Viewtiful Joe and the Castlevanias so do not suggest those. Also they're not quite what I'm looking for, I'm looking for something like Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Final Fight, etc... I played Tokyo Beat Down but it was crappy.

In a totally unrelated note, I remember seeing a Japanese racing game with an overhead view, similar to Gaelco's World Rally. It was supposed to be localized in English, anyone know what this game is and if it really got a localization?

Thanks!

The Pirates of the Caribbean games for DS are essentially beat'em-up type games. Plus they have some platforming too.

There was Biker Mice From Mars, that's a beat'em-up, but it's not really that great.

X-Men Wolverine for DS was a beat'em-up.

Spiderman Web of Shadows is a beat'em-up with Metroid-vania aspects.

Racing games:

Speed Racer was a surprisingly good racing game.

Sideswiped is quite awesome, if I do say so myself.

Pimp My Ride Street Racing is better than the name may imply.

Cars Race-O-Rama is very playable.

Then there are your standard favorite racing games for DS:
Mario Kart (naturally)
Asphalt 2
GRID
Trackmania
Dirt 2

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Hope that helps you.

EDIT: Just thought of another DS beat'em-up......TMNT Arcade Attack.....not so great, but you MIGHT like it.

EDIT2: Just noticed I'm up over 5000 posts now. Whoopity-doo!

You could try Tokyo Beat Down, it's very old-school and loves to make fun of it.

I'm gonna look into your beat 'em up suggestions.
As for the racing games, well, they're good suggestions (finished them all already) but I don't think you really read my question
