Making me pay more for older games with some "3D effect" in them? I'll pass.

Only games I could see actually decent for this though are the original Star Fox for the SNES and like Super Mario Kart or something.
Who cares about the 3D?
Well, why would you buy a retro game now? (Aside from collecting) If they didn't add anything, you might as well emulate on a PC or something.
I prefer buying them. I don't have as much fun when I pirate retro games.

I don't think it would be worth it since both of those games are getting their own retail 3d remakes.

No, one's getting a remake of a sequel and the other's getting a new game in the series (not a remake).

Hmm... Last I checked, Star Fox 64 was more or less a remake of the original SNES title (not many differences to consider it a legit sequel imo), and I don't think I'd be telling any fibs by saying Mario Kart 3ds isn't going to much different from other MK's.

It's a significant sequel. The original Star Fox was only air combat and the levels are quite different. Star Fox 64 had both in-air and on-land combat (well, between the Arwing and the Landmaster).

Super Mario Kart's gameplay is actually quite different because of its age. It plays a bit different than other Mario Karts (outside of like Mario Kart Advance and kinda Mario Kart 64). Plus some people are into that retro stuff. Saying Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 3DS is kinda like saying Street Fighter II and Street Fighter IV are the same.

They're still both different games.

Sega lines up five Game Gear titles for 3DS Virtual Console

While nice, we DID know GG games were coming (though we now know more specifics). They're also not going to be in 3D, they're for the virtual console service, not 3D Classics (like Excitebike). It's a strictly 2D experience for VC games.

I just think about how the big N would approach making these 3d classics. I doubt they'd invest in giving 3d facelifts to a franchise more than once (Zelda being the biggest exception), or at least anytime soon. You probably won't see 3d versions of SSF2 or Pilot Wings until way down the line.

I just think they'd want to cover more ground with their 3d classics.
