We're always reminded to keep IRC and the forum separated, and that what happens in the IRC channel stays in IRC, and mustn't affect the life of the forum. And yet, here we have members threatening to leave the forum because of what happened in the IRC channel, and admins banning people from the forum because of IRC transgressions. I am not defending Westside, he himself admitted that what he did was wrong, but the way I see it, members used the forum as leverage in an IRC dispute, and amins used their forum moderation powers to intervene in that IRC dispute. Aren't both of those very much contrary to the "separation of forum and IRC" policy?
