He also is going to get doom working (the old one ) ,I get this info in discord
Oh what?
Are we talking about a port of Doom (1993) to the Switch already?

The 3DS? Oh wait that was a huge success.
The Wii? Oh no this was yet another success.
The DS? Oh no that's the second best selling console of all time.

The fact those consoles failed was due to other issues not related to piracy, your logic is flawed.

So? I stated exactly that. Where's your problem with that? Did you think I was being ironic or something?

Btw, it was about game devs stopping releasing games, which is not entirely the same as hardware sales. But we still share a point here.

great, people already porting old games, and I'm struggeling at getting Mephisto to execute binaries fml
Same boat.
I run Ubuntu through VirtualBox, got the clang-5.0 build tools installed but Mephisto fatal asserts when trying to run ctu against an nso I built from switch_examples (simple.nso)
Guess I will have to wait until kgsws publishes something a little easier to follow.

yep tried to run a libtransistor nro and an nso (win10 Linux Subsystem) Assertion `exists(lfn)' failed.

Exactly same error I'm getting (in the loadNso call).

OK, I got something out (avoided the assert and a pipe of a load of debug) with the following command instead of setting up a load.meph file:

./Mephisto/ctu --load-nso ./switch_examples/templates/simple/simple.nso

If anyone could just help me real quick.

I bought switch near release and played only Zelda,

Finished and never touched it again.

I never got it online for an update. What version it is? And what game can I buy to get it to 3.0.0 ?

Thanks!
poke tournament baby

You are a saviour. Its finally debugging the libtransistor nro binaries.

Oh my this is such a huge thing.
At least for me
Can't call a system a gaming device without it running Doom first. xD
With Doom being ported, I can assume the libraries and other stuff used for the port would come in handy for other homebrew devs :)

It already has Doom on it. ;)

Doom'16 is better than Doom'93. ;)

A surprisingly solid port on the Switch, been enjoying it on my off-hours.
I've been wanting to get it for the Switch actually, but two things are keeping me from doing it:
  1. The price point (full price for an almost 2 year old game is quite a lot for me)
  2. I still don't know nor have confirmation on what system update does it ask for the Switch.
I wouldn't care about the price point if I know the game is playable on 3.0 or below, because I won't sacrifice homebrew for just one game
