Step by step guide:

1. Get Wii Points Card
2. Get Wifi running on wii
3. Go to Shop Channel and Buy "Internet Channel"

Is it any good or not worth bothering with?

If any good where do I get it?

Or am I being naughty in asking this?

It's alright. I still prefer my computer to the wii for web browsing but thats just me........... Either way to get it you buy a wii points card from your local retail store and proceed home with this newly purchased points card at which point you simly turn on your wii and go to the shop channel. In the shop channel home there should be a spot to click that says add points. You can then add the points to your wii from there. (You must have wifi to do so.) Once the points have been added to your wii go to the shopping section that says channels. In that section there is a channel for sale called the internet channel. Purchase it with the points you just added to your wii and it will download and install. However there are illegal ways of obtaining the channel but to do this violates at least one law maybe more........ I advise the legal method as obtaining an illegal wad for the web browser is a pain in the ass.

The real questions is: Is your computer close to the Wii and are you extremely lazy?

He probably doesn't have a computer and he is probably already using Opera without even knowing it...

  • ZeroT21 @ ZeroT21:
led have much more heat i suppose if they can cause burn in, or is the fragile parts used to make them on purpose

    Isn't lcd different from led

LCD is different from LED and OLED.

LCD/TFT don't emit light on their own, they just filter color they have to have a backlight. LED/OLED panels emit light.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Backlight can be one giant light panel with a diffusor, but recently there's mini/micro LED backlighting, where you can control the light level for smaller areas of the screen, to get better contrast and color range.
  • ZeroT21 @ ZeroT21:
yeah, lots of lcd panel tech usually have the dead backlight issue making owners think it's completely dead
  • Veho @ Veho:
And those backlights can get burn-in themselves.

i fixed my previous tv twice already, 1st time was power supply defect and 2nd was dead backlight, just ordered some parts after butchering it open
