Hardware We Sing Rock question

So I just got We Sing: Rock for wii and everytime after it asks me to shake the mic it shows a guitar written ready to go on it, at this point I can't do anything but to press back/cancel... Does this game requires a Guitar to be playable?

Are the other We Sing games requiring guitars as well??
