Wow. This is gonna be sweet when it gets ironed out. I didn't really even test out the functions of the program. But I did put together a list of stuff I found while I was messing around.

1
My A: drive is not a floppy, but instead a 1TB drive. So to get games from it, I have to copy them to a higher letter drive first. I tried to get around this. I added A: to the library on the left. Then I clicked on the button for A: and got a crash.

Selecting a folder from the list of skins with no skin (I picked the _media skin) in it causes a crash and I am unable to open the program to change the setting. I had to do it by editing the config file.

3
I had a folder selected and clicked the "covers" button on the left. First, I assumed that it would load whatever folder it is putting images in. Second, it is showing big covers with list view still enabled.
errer.png

4
While in details view, The titles are cut off by the width of the heading. Even after I drag the heading divider to make it wider, the names are still cut off.

5
The file sizes are limited to 1 decimal place. For most things this fits. But for games, I think it is better to allow them to 2 decimal places... 4.37 instead of 4.4.

6
I can create, and reproduce, a crash by clicking the "covers" button on the left.

7
When I click the headings to resort the files, I have to click first to get focus on the heading and click again to sort. It should be 1 click, not 2.

8
This one really isn't anything wrong. It is just a couple suggestions. I make a lot of custom games based from real Wii games, and as a result, I am constantly changing the ID of the game. Rather than using lots of different apps, It would be nice to have a right-click option to do this. I cooked up a function to do this already in plain-Jane C. It is the equivalent of the u32 wbfs_ren_disc(wbfs_t*p, u8* discid, u8* newname) function in libwbfs, so it is used the same way.

Code:
u32 wbfs_rID_disc(wbfs_t*p, u8* discid, u8* newID)
{
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂwbfs_disc_t *d = wbfs_open_disc(p,discid);
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂint disc_info_sz_lba = p->disc_info_sz>>p->hd_sec_sz_s;

ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂif(!d)
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂreturn 1;

ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂmemset(d->header->disc_header_copy, 0, 0x10);
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂstrncpy((char *) d->header->disc_header_copy, (char *) newID, 0x9);

ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂp->write_hdsector(p->callback_data,p->part_lba+1+d->i*disc_info_sz_lba,disc_info_sz_lba,d->header);
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂwbfs_close_disc(d);
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂreturn 0;
}
The NTFS version would be very similar, just editing the first bytes of the iso. That way one could alter the ID and names of games on both NTFS and WBFS partitions all from within 1 program.

Also, I wold like the ability to unblock my A: drive, and resize width of names while in list view.

Again, great program!
rolleyes.gif

Thanks.

Now, for the list:

1. By default, A and B drives are disabled, there is a configuration line for this feature, i just didn't add it to the Configurations panel:

IgnoreDrives = "AB"

just remove A and/or B from the quotes and it should work.

The crash was caused because the program uses a collection for the drives on the PC, if you ignore one it will not be on the list, if you try to access it the program will crash, with the time i will add more error checks to the program. +1 to the list...

2. The program was supposed to have a security check for this case, i'll add a fallback, the _media, _skinsource and _tfs are for development only, they were included by mistake in the final release, the will be deleted automatically in a future release.

3. Problem identified

4. I'll check it out

5. Hum, makes sense

6. There should be a corrupted cover in the 'Covers' folder, all the covers were downloaded using Wbfssync?

7. I'll check it, but this is identical to Windows Seven style...

8. There is the Rename function, just select the game and press F2, is it malfunctioning?

EDIT

I'll check the Loaders problem...

Nope, the rename is working perfect. I just didn't realize that you put the ID and the rename in the same function.

what do you mean be question 6?

I'm not sure if this is expected behavior (or even really important), but if I have your program running and it is showing the log at the bottom half and then I drag and move other windows on top of it, it thinks I am trying to drag/drop the windows into it and fills up the log with un-needed fail messages.

As far as the corrupted skin, it IS a file that was downloaded with the program, but it isn't a skin. In the main "skin" folder I have 4 subfolders... _Media, _Skin Source, _tfs and AeroSeven. I'm not sure if they are just hidden files on the computer that packed the archive or what. But they aren't hidden on m PC.

Inside the first 2 folders are photoshop files. The _tfs folder has an xml file. And the last folder is the working skin. Here is the crash error that happens when it tries to load a skin from one of the folders with only pdf files in it.

Sorry i mean "a corrupted cover in 'Covers' folder", but i wrote skin instead... odd...., anyway, all the covers were download by wbfssync?
The 'Covers' shortcut will enumerate all PNG files in that folder.

sorry for the delay.
ain't got much time.. will do more testing tomorrow

but here is what is not working.
I have a file c:\b.syncscrub

for each test I restart the console

test 1
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b.iso (good command)
---> working

test 2
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub b.iso (missing the path in destination)
---> error -2004
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b.iso (good command)
---> error - not a syncscrub disc!

test 3
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b.iso (good command)
---> working
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b1.iso (good command)
---> error - not a syncscrub disc!

test 4
unscrub b.syncscrub c:\b.iso (missing the path in source)
---> error - not a syncscrub disc!
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b.iso (good command)
---> working
unscrub c:\b.syncscrub c:\b1.iso (good command)
---> working

I will give more feedback tomorrow...

When I press the "covers" button, it switches to the covers view. But as you can see it the image I posted earlier, it doesn't go to the right folder for the covers. This may be what is causing the issue. It is trying to find covers for the different files and folders of the folder it is on.

I coudn't replicate this effect here... could you send a Screenshot or the content of the log? thanks.

@redia

I think i fixed all the bugs, before releasing the 2.0.06 i will upload a pre-release console only 2.0.06 if you want to try it out.

here is a small list with the changes for the console:

-Improved error messages, not perfect yet, in some errors a "Fail" or "Win32 error" message will be sent.
-The listgames now include a optional parameter to export the games to a list in the PC.
-Fixed (i hope) the errors with the scrub files.
-Changed the listgames layout to:

[GAME CODE: 6 chars] - [GAME NAME: 32 chars] - [SCRUB SIZE: 10 chars] [a "DL" for double layer or 2 empty spaces]

note: the space before and the one after the '-' is to make the layout less messed for the people using the console, the DL instead of just a '*' is for that too.

The makerelease, verify and dump functions were removed from the release compilation since it's for debug purposes

listgames... close to perfect. if you had a way to change the layout of the gamesize to something like x'xxx'xxx'xxx that would be simply perfect.

unscrub...
wrong argument error message ... working like a charm
test 2 ... working like a charm
test 3... working like a charm
test 4... working like a charm

nice of you to have removed the makerelease/verify/dump... it will avoid any confusion.

ok I am moving on to the next bug... if I can find one
wink.gif

I will have time for extensive testing this morning.
I will revert by lunchtime (gmt+1)

is this a bug for all DL thats the only one i have

Strange, i have Metroid Prime Trilogy working fine here...
Is it a Wii Game? Because the program will only show Wii Isos

sorry for the late reply, had to reformat pc (installed raid 1 drives)

yes it is a wii game Damnation, or something similar lol

it just dosent show in the list of games ?

warlord

edit just tried the file in wbfs and not working either, filename = rld-damn

giantpune

in the WBFSSync\Skins folder and Skins\Thumbs
search for a corrupted image file and try delete it. This may solve.

redia

what "wrong argument error message"?

i forgot to tell, auto extension is enabled for extrat, scrub and unscrub.
And about the: using filenames without a full path creating the game in the app folder, this is an expected result as the routines provided by Microsoft that deal with file operation consider any driveless path as relative to the working path.

warlord007

you can do this: using WBFSSync browse to the folder / drive with this game, on the bottom half change to "Log" Tab and see what the program says about the game.

Omega Frost,

the "wrong argument error message" is the message you are now giving for example if you do not put a full path in destination when unscrubbing.. that's great.. now we know we should check the argument if something goes wrong.

the auto extension is not working very well.
it should be added ONLY if the extension is missing.

there is a problem with DL disks.
I am currently testing with Metroid Prime Trilogy.
the 'add' seems to work
the extract does not give correct results.
when extracting without scrubbing I end up with an ISO which is : 9.179.648KB (9.399.959.552bytes)
and if I do a scrub from the ISO and an extract with scrub, although the file are the same size the resulting file are not identical (I am not sure whether it is a problem or not...

There are no corrupted images there. Every image there was put there by the program. I deleted all of them and tried again and I always get the same outcome. The program crashes with the "out of memory" exception. It doesn't matter what folder I am viewing, or what screen I have pulled up in the program. Click the "covers" button == crash on my system.

Upon startup I got this message: "Ocorreu um erro inesperado durante a execução do programa e este será fechado, se o erro persistir reporte-o no site http://wbfssync.codeplex.com/". Which, according to Google Translator, means this in english: "An unexpected error occurred during the execution of the program and it will be closed if the error persists report it on the site http://wbfssync.codeplex.com/". I'm running XP SP3 with .Net Framework 3.5 SP1. I hope this program can be fixed easily as WBFS Manager crashes when I try to load "Ultimate Board Game Collection", although not important, it is annoying.

@redia

The size isn't supost to vary, i'll verify, but i did a few trials with my Metroid here and despite of the size, the critical content inside it is identical

@giantpune

Could you post the specs of you machine? I doubt my program is consuming so much but is something to consider

@Intranet

inside the program folder there should be a 'Log' folder with one or two text files inside, could post them inside spoilers here?

thank you

I'm not sure exactly what you need to know so here's a good bit. I hope your program isn't requiring every bit of memory I have. 8GB ram and 3.5 TB HDD.

ok..
now the comments <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

1. when modifying an option that needs restart to take action (for example language) popup a message
2. could you add the ciso/wbi support
3. it looks like your application can only download 3d OR standard covers... why not both ?
4. following the previous point.. if I start downloading flat covers.. and then switch to 3d.. I end up with a mix
5. when in the option screen, if I click outside of the option page (for example on a drive) I would like a message to popup telling me I am leaving the option screen and actually leave.

as always... more to come <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Cheers,
R

run as admin

not sure if this has been mentioned but

it dsoent list DL disk ?

i have Damnation on the drive but it isnt displayed in the list ?

is this a bug for all DL thats the only one i have

nice app though

warlord

Strange, i have Metroid Prime Trilogy working fine here...
Is it a Wii Game? Because the program will only show Wii Isos

sorry for the late reply, had to reformat pc (installed raid 1 drives)

yes it is a wii game Damnation, or something similar lol

it just dosent show in the list of games ?

warlord

edit just tried the file in wbfs and not working either, filename = rld-damn

If the filename is rld-damn then this is defenitely NOT a Wii game. The 'rld' in the filename is short for the group that released the game 'Reloaded' and they only release PC games

Ok. The crash caused by clicking the "covers" button is gone in the new version.

There is still the issue that game names are only read to 31 characters. If I have "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" on the drive, the program only sees it as "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grad". So what happens if I click rename to change the game ID? Does it write only the ID and the first 31 characters of the game title (leaving the rest of the title as it was)? Or does it change the game ID and rename to game title to the shorter version (and fill in the rest of the title with 00)?
