This was an issue for me before (the homebrew not appearing that is). I found out that it didn't copy everything properly the first time so I did it again and now it's all working on 8GB.

If there's anything you should know before transferring the files to a new storage device, it's to COPY the files over to your PC and then copy those files stored on your PC to the new storage device. DON'T move.
If it all works fine on the now-being-used SD card then it's safe to wipe out your previous one.

    If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
