THQ are doing some sort of contest (dunno what sort, they haven't said) where you can win one of six DS or PSP mods.

I don't think hadrian was "bashing" your comment, IMO he was commenting his own.
And I seriously think the only difference between versions is the graphic engine (2D vs. 3D), it would be somewhat weird to alter some gameplay elements from what is suppose to be the same game on both plataforms.

Heh - my mistake then for thinking that someone quotes someone else just for placing an own comment. But other than that - peace...

Anyway - I'll be glad if the game becomes the star we all hope it do be...

They should've made it real time. The setup would be perfect. The graphics; Awesome.

It's very hard to follow with the enemy turn movement...It's slow. Annoying battle tips keep blocking the map. The simultaneous unit commanding is entirely obsolete, since you got one stylus and one d-pad....Awesome it could have been, but's it's really...not....

Not that it's a bad game, but it just could've been so much better.

Is it really that bad? I'm quite enjoying it so far and I'm pretty sure you can turn off the tips by turning off the tutorials.

It's really really really boring. Like I played through it last night and I fell asleep twice waiting for the AI to do something. I would write a review about it but I'd fall asleep doing that trying to remember things about the game. >.>

I played the first 3 missions.
I have to say that this is one of those 20 minute ports. They took the psp version and then just ported some of the stuff to ds.

There is no music during battles. There is real story that make sense. There is no real tutorial. They just throw you into the game with little presentation and little story. It's really half assed.

The units say only a few words

The ai turn takes forever and you have no way of actaully seeing what the ai is doing other than seeing them move their units on the tactical map and hearing sounds of them firing at your guys. Intead of showing you what the enemy just did like by zooming in on the map to show you graphically what's going on, you get a text appearing if an enemy killed your guys.

It's not well implemented.

You can see what the enemy is doing by using the D-Pad to scan the area where the enemy is. The game uses 'fog of war' so you can only see when the enemy is close enough. Control the camera by using the D-Pad to see how the enemy is moving around and who is firing at you. Place your marines behind vehicles to help you see further and better. Use terrain to your advantage. The Terminators have a better sight range.

Hint, on mission 8 take extra ammo as you will have about 50 opponents.

A completed save can be found in the NDS save game files.

Give it a chance.

15 missions total. I thought it was quite fun.

The camera is aweful? No 3d scrolling. =(

And during the enemy turn, you have no choice but to look at the map, because you can't see which enemy unit is up, on the main screen. I only look at the map when the enemy is moving. When one of my guys gets killed, i don't noticed who it was, until i find out one my guys is missing in my own next turn...

I know the camera isn't great.. but if you use the D-Pad (Digital Pad)when it is the enemies turn you can see where they are going. Try it. Remember though, only works for what you can see of the enemy.

well for poor tactics it is easy to determine who was killed...it's the marine you put next to the enemy in the wide open.
You need to use some tactics in this game.
Go to cover and use it. let the marines cover each other, don't let your troops get attacked from behind or the sides. If you have to rush the enemy...don't do it half hearted...give em what you have...except if they have explosives...in that case stay in cover or spread out in your rush...or put that tank/armor in front to soak up the damage.

I admit the controls could be better....but there is always room for improvements!
