So, what is this unkown bug? Unfortunately, I know very little about the Wii programming. So, I cannot find out what it is, and Marcan will not tell me because I want to use it to install the new cIOS in order to use the backup launcher.

Not for Beta 9.
so then the TP hack still works for people who updated to 3.3(2)?

Oh, yes, Nintendo will never get to fix the TP hack!!!
wow i must have misread something then, thought they blocked that exploit... SWiiiiiiiiiT!!!

This is correct if you mean by the system menu reinstall method with AnyRegion Changer and such. Thing is though, this app will use cIOS to download the old truncha-unFIXED IOS:es from Nintendos servers and install them, OVERWRITING THE FIXED ONES
Wrong.
It does not download old IOS files. They are not stored on Nintendo's server anymore. They're replaced now.

It downloads the current IOS files, removes the signing bug and installs.
Epic Misinformation!

There's a couple possibilities here:

1) The old IOS files are actually not on Nintendo's server anymore.
This is wrong, because I can still download them, and you can still download them, and patchmii can still download them, and your Wii can still download them.

2) Waninkoko is incredibly stupid, and decided to fakesign and install every IOS on the system.
While there may be some proponents of Waninkoko's stupidity, he wrote a downgrader before, and he wrote the patch to remove the AddTitle version check. I think he knows you can download old titles on NUS and install them, and he's intelligent enough to check if they're really there.

3) You're wrong, and the IOS files are there, and Waninkoko's app uses them.
^^ This one makes the most sense.

Call it blind assumption, but Waninkoko COULD do it without fakesigning, by just grabbing the old IOS from NUS, and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

You guys, there is a workaround. What needs to be done is that you need to change the patchmii core like tona did, but instead of it installing ios51 you install ios36. I cannot compile very well, and I did not get all of the changes tona made from tona because I got banned from the #wiidev channel. I do not know why because I wasn't mentioning the backup loader. If anybody could figure this out it would help out with the update problem some of us are having.

Didn't I just tell you that WOULDN'T work? Patchmii uses fakesigning.

Why would you wanna downgrade anyway now

Right, sorry, I am just confused because I was able to use your modified version and it worked? Also, how would someone go about installing without fake signing. You should probably get in touch with Waninkoko. BTW, this was after the update.

Using a cIOS Downgrader would be retarded, as it downloads the IOS files from Nintendo's server.

You could use the IOS Downgrader, which removes the signing bug check in all of the IOS files, but you need a cIOS to run it (because it uses fake-signing and cIOS features), which you cannot install because the cIOS Installer uses fake-signing.

I just took a look-see at the code for the cios downgrader and you are correct. I can not even change it too work with the ios downgrader. No way possible with Nintendo's updates and no cIOS installed. Dammit.

I have The Homebrew Channel beta9 (IOS36) and the last Nintendo firmware.
No cIOS (sigh) but PathMii_core (IOS254) installed.
Uhm..if i dump (with WUFE by Nuke) IOS36 (fake-signing) from Mario Kart Wii..then overwrite the new version in the system with wad manager..this where it will bring me? In the Hell ?

Installing wads doesn't work because of, guess what?
Fake-signing!

If you had a cIOS installed before, the latest Wad Manager can boot into that so it won't be affected by Nintendo updates.
And a custom version of wad manager compatible with PathMii_core (IOS254) ?
Actually is the only one IOS with fake-signing bug in my Wii..i believe..

I know a dirty little secret, did anybody know that ios16 and ios51 are the only ones with the trucha signer bug still. Yes, I said ios16 - the one from the pinfish disk. Extract it and it can be installed with Wad Manager 1.21, but I do not know what can be done with it?

First use IOS Downgrader, that should work with PatchMii; if you're lucky. This restores most IOS:es fixed by the latest update. Otherwise just wait for another installer which eventually will use som new bug to install stuff; maybe the bug utilized by HBCb9. Some fix will come ...

Then get IOS36 from a disc with wufe, I used my original PAL SSBB, and install waninkoko's custom IOS36 rev3, for the future.

After downgrading, you can probably use WiiGators installer as well. I tried that first with failure, switched to waninkokos which failed as well, before finding the downgrader. After getting the downgrade to work i tried the one still beeing on my SD, which just happened to be waninkokos.

No..don't work.
PatchMii_core is useful for waninkoko homebrew's.
