trying to dump my GC games to play on my laptop, but its been like an hour or something and its only done 4.8mb
i installed his cIOS to use this dumper as others dont dump GC games in wiimode
anyone else having slow dumps? or know how to fix?

You installed the IOS, as well?

If not, it's only going to read a small amount of data and stop.

What speed is your SD card?

Im having the same problem, im just doing a test dump of SSBB, set it to dump at 1.5GB chunks at a time, set to dual layer, and after bout 3 hours, only done 10mb... kinda the same as the nitrotux dumper.

Is it maybe a flaw in the way it dumps? Because both dumpers have the same problem, slow dumping times...

Like I said, what speed is your SD card?

That's a factor here...

EDIT: Also, you might want to try doing a full(long) format before dumping. Windows XP/Vista also like to put recovery information on your drives. Make sure to view hidden and system files.

im not sure, its a toshiba 1gb card, how can i check? everything seems to copy from at to it pretty fast on my laptop, i copied a custom VC game 46mb which reached a rate of just over 2mb.

2MB/s? That's rediculously slow...

I have a 2GB card that can do 20MB/s. I'll try the dumper and report back...

Use HDBench.

Just to prove a point, I'm running a test dump of Guitar Hero III right now.

Steps I took are as follows:

+Formatted 2GB Patriot SD card 40x
+Dropped the DVD Dumper "boot.elf" into a folder and ran it from HBC
+Set part size to 1664MB

A 40x SD card runs at 6MB/s, which is the same speed as the DVDROM drive, so there's no hardware delays. However, I'm only getting about 2MB/s and it hasn't stopped once.

It's clear there's a software issue, but I've proven it works, at least.

Yeah... that's your problem right there.

32MB will mean hundreds of trips back to the computer...
