Waninkoko has just released two new apps. An update to his cIOS and a new program called Channel Loader.

[ DESCRIPTION ]:

- This is a Custom IOS, an IOS modified to add some new features
not available in the official IOS.

This IOS has been made to be used ONLY with homebrew software.

The Custom IOS installs as IOS249 and it does not modify any other
IOS so it is secure to install.


[ REQUISITES ]:

- "IOS36-64-v1042.wad" original WAD file.


[ HOW TO INSTALL IT ]:

- Copy "IOS36-64-v1042.wad" file to the root of a SD card.
- Insert the SD card on your Wii.
- Run the installer.


[ KUDOS ]:

- The channels' names will only appear if "Custom IOS36 rev 04" or higher
is installed.

- Installation of "Custom IOS36 rev 04" or higher is recommended.

- Run the application and select the channel to launch.

So this Channel Loader, is that likely to actually mean ANY channel from ANY region?

[ CIOS36 rev 04 ]:

- The base IOS is now IOS36.
- Eliminated the title ID check in the the function ES_OpenTitleContent().
- Eliminated permission check in the function ES_ReadContent().

So... what's the point of this again? The only use I see to it is maybe getting the Japanese Wii Shop channel...If that's even possible.

Not really sure. I'm sure Waninkoko will explain at some point. But, as for other region shop channels, you can already change that with tona's AnyRegion Changer.

No, probably not. When I was looking at this site, four releases were marked as new, but I realized only two were from today. So the title is what it is.

you can already get to the jPN shop channel. use tona's AnyRegionChanger, and set your shop channel region to JPN.

I got it from a "WiiUpdater-IOS36-64-v1042.ISO" and with trucha I extracted it...
And delete the last to things: .out.wad

I think it is proper than...

it is right. i extracted it form brawl using WUFE and the filename was IOS36-64-v1042.wad.out.wad

just modify the name deleting out.wad and then it's ready to use.

The CIOS installed fine and the new wad manager works good.

First i tried to install it without removing the old CIOS but it didn't work. you have to uninstall it first. After that it installs fine.
