Just to let everyone know that kovach's tool _IS_ working:

It's extremly easy to use, and works like a charm

(My desktop was my output folder)

Works 100% here as well , just ran it to see for myself.

THANKS KOVACH for this awesome tool , thanks everyone else who was involved these past few days with this stuff !

Hopefully now we can see some homebrew channels being made , NO MORE VC !

sorry kids, can I just be absolutely clear here? Nothing can be done about region freeing these VC titles? Us NTSC-J owners are just left in the cold whilst PAL and NTSC-U owners enjoy unlimited retro action? Shafted again....

yeah

this is like discrimination

is there really no way to alter the region code?

wad uninstaller is at: http://wii.waninkoko.info/

also i got the memory full message on my wii, too many games lol

Got this message also. It's going to be hard to decide what games to have on there. I knew the Wii only had 512mb but c'mon, to only be able to fit a few VC games on there is ridiculous.

Check some of your Wii save games. I found quite alot that took up over 100 blocks (SSBB, Elebits etc.)

and thus the benefits of using a homebrew emulator shine through

Damn, nothing NTSC in the "news" yet....I'll give it a couple hours to see if anything shows up.

Can you install, copy to SD and then delete the thing on the Wii using the Wii's data management menu?

Perhaps it will let you copy it back over rather than reinstalling it?

Hola!!!
Alguien puede probar esto...?
Convertir un canal de la CV PAL a NTSC!
1.- Acceder a la parte del WAD donde esta el TMD.
2.- Modifica el offset DENTRO del TMD.
3. Firmar el TMD.

El offset a modificar seria 0x19d si no me falla.

Código de región:
00 jap
01 usa
02 pal
03 region free

Saludos!!!

that is, title.tmd, offset 0x19d
00, 01, 02, 03.

that easy. ntsc > pal has problems, still running at 576i, sound issues.
pal > ntsc just black screens. why convert this way in the first place, do you want 50hz games?

no longer will the message 'you cannot play this' or whatever will show up.
probably this will work fine for ntsc-u > ntsc-j

Mischief Makers boots, and the demo mode and intro play fine, but when you try to actually start the game it freezes after you push start on the main menu
