Hacking WAD Packer v0.0001 released!!!

Was a torrent for a PAL SmBros. VC wad by some spanish group, tmasgames (they've done some others as well). it installs and works for me, only tried it after a guy who mentioned it to me on IRC said it worked. I'd say more but I don't want to get into trouble for spreading/promoting this, though they're not exactly hard to find.

Did you use wadpacker-VERSION_0.00004 ?

yes, i try with mario bros 2, released by SEF, ticket error, i have all the apps and the wadpacker make a wad of 12MB

And i guess using CERT.SYS from your wii as title .cert doesn't change it ?

Actually, does anyone know the 8-digit name of title.tik? (if there is one when extracted from the Wii...) I think I may know how to solve this.

To quote myself, I found out it used to be FFFFFFFD, but... isn't anymore. Looks like Nintendo probably fixed my idea months ago.

its late but i compared the title.cert file from the first release

with the cert.bin from Namco Museum Remix and its

100% (!!!) the same.

I dont know if its important.

100% the same as the two above. So we need only one

cert file. But there is still the ticket prob

uhm...done some more testing..got some good results but waiting before releasing so i can do some more testing to check it wasnt a fluke.. btw,any1 have a was UN-packer ?? wanna check some things

Try the command-line tool zeventig from Segher's (public) Wii tools.

I didn't have a proper root-key, so i get errors. But the hexdump of the wad-header, ticket, cert-chain etc. is interesting. It's open-source so you can tweak the code to dump the info directly to a file and compare it quickly with a hashsum, f.e. the title.cert with one of the other releases out there.

I JUST DID IT

I installed my Link to the past wad i created by fooling the wii into thinking i used the Donkey kong jr ticket ..basically the wad installer runs,does the adding of the tmd,then checks ticket..and as we already had the DKJ working before i just changed some hex codes to make it slightly replicate the DKJ ticket..and it worked
installed link to the past,and it's running perf..
will post howto later..gotta run,getting another tattoo done today

new version of the wad packer... should fix the problem with the ticket... if not.. tell me and i will.. correct it

, my program was designed to be used with hombrew channels.. thats way many people are having problems with vc.. (it was not intended for that) (and for hombrew channels you have to forge your own tickets.. and tmd)

Though if you can't work that part out you definitely shouldn't be using this tool.
