I've been using WAD Manager 1.21 without problems for some time.
Then I installed IOS53 to fix issues with some newer backups - succesfully: The games now plays.

But... WAD Manager seems slightly "broken": It still can install and uninstall wads, but I am only able to do so because I remember what WAD Manager used to write. I.e. Press A to select device etc. The list of wads on my SD scrolls up over the screen, and there is no little arrow next to the list. Basically it looks like sort of a wrongly configured TERM variable in a Linux prompt, if you know what I mean.

I also tried with WAD Manager 1.4 and it is even worse - the ASCII text part does not display correctly, leaving me to guess what is going on. It exits nicely when I press "home", so the app seems to be running fine apart from the text output.

Anyone experienced something similar? Any clues on how to fix it?

I'm on 3.2E, Cyclowiz, cIOSrev10.

Can IOS53 be safely uninstalled? (If I get Anytitle Deleter to work again...)

*bump*

Anyone? Pliiiz?

I tried re-installing cIOS10 to no avail. AND I noticed that waninkokos cIOS10-installer had the same problem displaying ASCII text properly... What can be the cause of this?

text issues eh?

hmm, sounds like its a problem with some system files...
My thoughts exactly. But I thought that an IOS had to be called/running to have effect. I.e. WAD Manager must be calling IOS53 (if indeed ithat IOS is the culprit)?

where did you get the IOS53 wad from? did you grab it yourself?
No. I found it different places online and compared - they were the same so I assumed they were OK. Possibly my bad.
Grabbing it myself would be something with running WUFE on e.g. NFS Undercover, right?

also, yes, it can be uninstalled safely.
Ok, noted. I'm also reaching a point where a system format might be necessary - I'm having too many tickets for AnyTitle Deleter. So I probably need to format before I can remove IOS53.

You should uninstall it and use wad installer v1.4. I like it better.
How does WAD Installer and Uninstaller relate to WAD Manager? Aren't (Un)Installer just older versions?

The problem was caused by too high a number of tickets on the console. I ran a format from the system menu and things work again. (Remember to backup Miis, savegames etc.)
Henceforth I'll use AnyTitle Deleter.
