Hi all

OK, I was thinking of hacking the vWii to pay games from the WBFS drive and GC games. I am on the latest version of the Wii software and I picked up a copy of Indi.

Is this an easy mod to do as I don't wanna brick the Wii (or my son won't be happy)

Is there an idiots guide for the indi mod?

Thanks as always & happy NY!

B

The "easiest" and "safest" way is to install the Homebrew Channel. Then if you only want to play GC games you just run Nintendont. If you also want to p(l)ay wii games you need some additional stuff (d2x cIOS and IOS236 Installer)

Here's a mini list of things you need:
- 2GB SD card (must not be SDHC) formatted to FAT
- You exploitable game (you have Indi)
- The exploit from wiibrew: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Indiana_Pwns
- Homebrew channel that comes in the HackMii intaller: http://bootmii.org/download/
- Additional tools/apps:
- xyzzy (backup console keys): https://gbatemp.net/threads/basic-dos-and-do-nots-of-vwii-modding.339337/#post-448506
- Dump Mii NAND (backup NAND): https://gbatemp.net/threads/dump-mii-nand-a-bootmii-format-nand-bin-nand-dumper-for-vwii-wii.358977/
- IOS236 Installer v8 (v8 needs no additional wad even though the tutorials say otherwise): http://wiiuhax.com/released-ios236-installer-mod-v8-for-vwii/
- d2x cIOS Installer & d2x cIOS v10 beta52 (or beta53) for vWii: http://filetrip.net/wii-downloads/tools-utilities/download-d2x-cios-installer-mod-2-2-f31273.html and https://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/downloads/list (for vWii!!)
- A usb loader, I see many people using USB Loader GX: https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/

Then follow these instructions: http://gbatemp.net/threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/ (if you only want to play GC games you don't need anything after the backups, only Nintendont)
For Nintendont you can find all info here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/

And technically there is always risk for bricking so also read this carefully: http://gbatemp.net/threads/basic-dos-and-do-nots-of-vwii-modding.339337/
And before you follow any instructions make sure you understand what each part of the tutorial does.
