Hacking vWii emulator question

Hey guys,

I want to install the homebrew channel on my Wii U's vWii mainly just to play some old SNES games. I am planning to run retroarch with roms straight from an SD card. Do I need to install any of the CIOSs to run them? I don't want to have to install any if I don't really need to.

I'm going to use this guide here:

My guess is that I could stop after step 5 or 6?

Yes you probably could stop around step 5 or 6, but for an extra 5 minutes of your time you'd be better off finishing it off in my opinion, no reason not to, and you're covered if you want to move on to an external hdd somewhere down the line, maybe for other game consoles (particularly CD based ones). Might as well get it all done
