For some reason my Wii U's vWii mode is way louder than it should be. It's really annoying because I often have to play late at night but it ends up waking people up and then I have to stop playing because of that. Is there any solution that can fix this and made the vWii audio volume match the Wii U software audio volume?

I have an original Wii and from what I can remember it isn't as loud as the vWii, however, I use AV cables for the original Wii and HDMI for the Wii U, and from what I can tell, it seems like other people who use HDMI on Wii U also have this problem.
