OK this is gonna sound dumb I have a Wii now that is soft modded and I love it to death. I always like to have a backup system incase something goes wrong. What im asking is What serial numbers should I be looking for when buying a Used wii so it can play DVD's? I have tons of gamecube backups now as my gamecube has taken a dump and I would like to get another wii that will read DVD's
 
if the wii has been sent in for repairs then the drive is most likely switched. also the older wii may have had the drive swapped for whatever reason by a previous owner.
