They always did that with Phantasy Star covers; a lot of the ads were live-action too (You can find them on youtube). That IS the original PSIV cover (still have my manual

)

It's actually kind of funny to me, because PS was really my first exposure to anime, even though I didn't realize what it was at the time. I just thought it was cool that the game had such in-depth well-drawn "cut scenes."

PSIV completely devalued the Final Fantasy franchise for me (well maybe just 7) When they killed Aeriths I was like "Haven't I seen this before?"

game was like over $100 when it was launched if my memory serves me.

yea this game was really pricey at the time.....but it was worth it
