Greetings,
As many of you probably know, V9-V13 Ps2s have an issue where the mechacon can potentially crash if you insert scratched media which will then cause the laser to fry itself.
There are many "Laser fixes" for the various revisions, however most of those "fixes" are quite terrible.
In my experience, the Romero fix for V9s and V10s justs makes your laser function horribly.
The V12 picfix is the prefered fix however the diagram only existed for V12s.
However, it is totally possible to install the picfix in a v9 or a v10.
The way I understand it, the picfix functions by shutting down the console if the mechacon crashes which will prevent the laser from becoming an hero.
Thanks for HaloSlayer225 over on Obscure Gamers for compiling all the info used to make these diagrams.
Here's a link to the original thread.

I have tested this in 2 of my personal V9s and it's working without issue (Using a 2.2k resistor)
It seems like others have used this in a V10 perfectliy fine with the standard 1.5k resistor. If you give this a shot please post your results.
thanks!
