Hacking Using sticky guide to modify my Wii

Hello to all,
would to give thanks to Deviyl an its guide. Works perfect for me.

Read more than 10 full guide around internet and for sure is the best.

I've some open thing not explained in deep in this guide :

- not find way to run any Gamecube backup
- in future if i want to run a game that require Wii system menu > 4.1, how upgrade things it in safe mode?
- exist a way to list all modify applyed to my wii ? (to have support and give HackMii & IOS version)
- restoring my NAND backup, return my console as origin ? (when i bought)

waninkoko will make updaters for them, but usually you can just instll new IOS with wad manager

No, it will restore to how it was when you made the backup

I've problem using GameCube Backup Launcher 0.2.

I've created multiboot dvd with 4 games. When i run WiiGator tool, wii freeze and return a black screen.

I've done this question because reading around that i must have mios capable to run backup,
so i want confirmation that Deviyl guide guide us to install last and right mios with this feature.

Now i'm reading all http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=142535 post to find possible solution
to my freeze issue.

Deviyl's guide doesn't bother with GC stuff at all so nothing there touched your mIOS. Run that mios patcher that comes with the download in that link for the gc backup launcher 0.2 first.

You can install the MIOS that is included with the package
If you used Deviyls guide thats perfectly safe to do

I don't run MIOS Patcher because i'm scared to 'overwrite' something.

So if i follow Wiigator Istallation Guide:

1. Copy directories "miospatcher" and "rungcbackup" to your SD card into the "apps" directory.
2. If you don't have a internet connnection with your Wii, you need to copy only one MIOS version to the SD card (see chapter "Offline Installation").
3. Put SD card into the front slot of your Wii.
4. Start Homebrew Channel
5. Run MIOS Patcher and press A (GC controller).
6. Insert your GameCube disc.
7. Run GC Backup Launcher and press A to start game (GC controller).

I enable this feature in my softmod Wii ?

Overwriting is not always bad. In this case it does nothing (except enabling GC backups)
Wiigators steps basically tell the same as what we told you to do

Yea generally, overwriting isn't really ever a problem. It's UNINSTALLING things that will fuck things up.

ok, try to modify mio cios small step forward but not load dvd.

I run MIOS Patcher and press A. Automatically MIOS patcher choose V5, i left this untouched and press A button.

Download from internet needed files, return sucess message, then reboot.

After i insert my DVD (DVD-R, multiboot, created with MultiGame ISO Creator v3.2.4F+).

Program read DVD then return:

failed to read dvd 263
Error 0x2062800

and reboot my Wii.

search in gbatemp forum, but can't find any solution...

any idea?

What kind of DVD is it (brand)?
And how did you burn it?

TDK DVD-R, burn at 4x using nero.

Burn Wii game 4x using nero, on Verbatim create working wii dvd.

you think is support ? application return same error also when i insert original gamecube mini-dvd...

There is wiigator error list for GC loader ?

Can my issue link with absence of DVDx application?

Now try to download and install it from homebrew channel, but installation return an 'stub ticket' error ...

I can choose uninstall from DVDx menu, but which risk is involved?

Buy Wii also to play GC games, if someone can help...

Its just phrased in a wrong way:

without luck.


is there any way to install fresh patched cMIOS manually over existing configuration ?
(to be sure overwrite bad one)

or redone from start softmod procedure ?

if yes which is right point to act ?

New MIOS will overwrite older ones, so just run the new installer
