Hacking Using iPod Nano 5G as USB Drive

So, I have a 8GB iPod Nano 5th generation, and whenever I load CFG usbloader, Loader GX, or WiiFlow they all don't detect it.

Loading it in CFG and GX doesen't work, loading it in Wiiflow just freezes at the Please wait... screen with the disc slot light on.

The iPod displays OK to Disconnect on it whenever a loader tries to use it. :/

Anyone know what's wrong?

Did you put the ipod into storage mode i think its called.


I know it can work i have a 5th gen 30GB ipod video ive used with the usb loaders when they first came out and it worked then.

It's in disk mode (a.k.a. storage mode). ;O

How are you formatting the drive? and to which format?

I only tried it with wbfs and even then i had a lot of issues with it so i just gave up trying.It did work but it made the ipod almost undetectable for a computer to see and itunes wouldn't even see it to restore it.You could just keep hearing the drive click non stop over and over when hooked up to the computer.I got lucky and itunes finally seen it one time so i just restored the whole thing and left it at that.

I have it formatted to FAT32, since CFG is able to use that with 249.

Seems an expensive way to store games. Get a more basic USB Stick, or a USB HDD.

You sure you're using the fat32 version of cfg? last time I checked WBFS and fat32/NTFS were different versions. Maybe now it's all in one though... anyway you should just get a USB drive, using an ipod for usb loading is kind of a waste...
