When in doubt, always try tiny soldering as a solution. Stop world hunger? Tiny solder it. Trump building a wall? Tiny soldering. Randomizer complaining about things not being available on the latest firmware? Tiny soldering helps.

OMG. That dude is never gonna be forgotten. It's a gbatemp exclusive meme.
Do you know the odd thing about this? Its mostly a meme, because of the general ignorance (QI segment term.. ;) ) of most people in here. :)

The basics first, yes the dude tried to get in on the groundswell of "buy the chip installation from me" posts - but to be fair, Xecuter has gotten most of its (odd) reputation for allowing people that would instal modchips a very healthy profit margin - so its very understandable, that some of them wanted to get their names out early this time around.

To be fair, if you look at the vigor with which endusers in here push for early builds of "something" - just to be the first ones to have stuff, I'd say trying to be "first" is a mindset that the average user in here knows very well.

Now to the tiny soldering part. Thats actually a thing. Dude offered up example images of his previous work, and he really seemed to be be quite adept at doing tiny point soldering. Of course the average user in here didnt pick that up and would rather laugh about something they didn't understand.

Next came the announcement of a solderless chip, which had the average person gloating about saving money not giving it to a guy for a soldering job - we'll see about that... :) And an announcement, that several hackers would press for a softmod solution before Xecuter would be able to be in business. We'll se about that as well. Also - the average person - even in here probably is on the most recent firmware - so the modchip probably still sounds great to them, at this point.

"Tiny soldering guy" - is a meme, that mostly underlines, how ignorant and self serving individuals behavior can be, and that even that can get popularized, because people find it funny to laugh at things they don't understand.

At least thats what comes to mind, everytime I see people sharing that meme.

It might not be intended, but it mostly marks you as laughing about things, you dont understand - or at someone, who showed ambition (or business acumen). Also it started to intensify, when you guys thought you could save money, getting the solderless version. Which is telling as well. :)

Not the tiny soldering guy, but so. who has soldered before.

TLDR; If you want to look intelligent, maybe stop laughing at that meme. :)

The reason for that can be, that "dude tried to be early - then everyone celebrated solderless version" is funny to you.

But then again, people trying to get a benefit (and mostly a reputation benefit) out of getting stuff "first", is on display in this forum every day. That guy at least tried to prop up a business. Most people just do it for bragging rights.

So, still not catching the funny part, I am afraid.. ;) Of course, everyone is entitled to their own humor.. ;)

PS: I cant tiny solder. So the dude and you have me beat. :)

Tiny soldering can solve most of your problems, but if you're a sad person there's not much it can do.

Also it can't help you realize you're not that smart, that everybody realizes what "tiny soldering" really is about, that the wording and timing of the person originally posting about it was hilarious bad marketing and a terrible piece of PR (thus made into a meme), and that mostly everybody understood it. It just can't help somebody keep their feet on the ground, that would actually require huge soldering.

Even more of a plot twist. I was doing soldering work for members of gbatemp years before you were a member.

Yeah well but charging already 100$ for a unknown soldering chip with 0 info about it and specially in the hacking section of switch is dumb...

Anyway I had a creative rare decoder with the whole PCB broken and one of the best electronic repair guy from my zone could repair it, he spent a damn huge amount of hours under microscope filling all the gaps with some kind of material not solder and he repaired it.

And I paid nothing for it lol, I guess having connections is the best. He was a friend of my father :)

Ps: when TX chip comes out I will try to solder it, if I can't I know who can solder it 4 me for like 10eur or maybe even free.
