    Anyone help me out?

I've tried pressing down on start up but it just returns back to the menu. I've tried adding --retroarch to end of the run file, still nothing.

    Any idess

What system are you running Retroarch on, and what core are you using to play the games? Have you tried different cores, or do they all lead to the same result?

Try using a newer Snes9X core, or use one of the bsnes cores and see if that makes any difference.
