Hacking Use Gateway Exploit on N3DS?

Hey Guys,

I'm not sure, but I read that the N3DS needs to be updated to get into the browser.

It's just a theory, but possibly we can run the exploit with the youtube-app (if it's already been downloaded before update 9.4 went's public).

A friend of mine has a N3DS and the youtube app, but he's offline at the moment.

I found this thread which says that it's possible to visit other sites as youtube.

If anyone could send me a .cia for the youtube app (it's free), I could try it.

internet works fine without updating

but from what i have read the web exploit works on the basis that the browser works as an applet....and thats where the exploit lies.....so i presume it will only work via the proper browser

Don't bother, we don't need to get the web exploit working on the n3DS.

The new3DS seems to use an entirety different entry point to launch Gateway.

All will be revealed within the next week or so.

n3ds has the browser and it works fine....just tested it, mines on 9.0 and i received it after 9.4 was out, so i never connected online.....but yeah its been hinted there may be an alternate entry point, but idk if that was just mis-information/trolling or something

Maybe holding off on releasing exploit until there's more info available on a european and USA n3ds launch. I know a lot of people got japanese and australian systems imported just for Gateway but it would be nice if the exploit doesn't get patched prior to a europe & usa release and by some miracle they don't come with firmwares above 9.2

The problem is that if your n3ds has downloaded an update, it won't let you open the internet browser, eshop, miiverse, or the friends list.

Hopefully gateway releases an entry-point that gets around this...

I can't see the New 3DS having 9.2 out of the box let alone 9.3 or 9.4. These units would have been manufactured ages ago, you'll end up seeing them released with 9.0 probably.

You do know the N3DS is out in two other countries? The browser is a different version.

I have an new ambassador European 3DS with 9.0. Thousands of them would have been manufactured at the same time ready for the European release.
Also I emailed Gateway asking if the exploit would work with the European version. They got straight back to me saying Support is just based on the firmware. As long as you are not above 9.2, you are good.

So there is no reason for them to delay the exploit for the official USA or European releases.

Can anyone tell me that actually owns a New Japanese or Aus 3ds is the new Gateway 3.01 actually working on it with Emunand. I am considering ordering one but dont want to until I have clear cut confirmation that I can use my gateway on it boot into an emunand and be able to launch US and Pal games as well as install the CIAs and homebrew. I know this is probably already answered in boards many times but I just wanted confirm from someone actually using it and playing on it

The current browser exploit doesn't exploit the system, the browser is better and has more ram.

Gateway is not currently working on the new 3ds at the moment it will be implicated soon.......

nope, some guy said a week, the same guy who said release was going to be i believe 2 or 3 days before they actually released.

give them about a month, imo.

What kind of update? Mine is on 9.2 and it nagging me to update to 9.4 but I can open internet browser just fine. I can't open eshop obvously because I'm not on 9.4 and I'm not sure about miiverse or friend list.

its true - the very first Batch of n3ds does not have ANY browser at all - at least my 8.1 3ds does not have any. it wants me to update the console (completely - not just the browser).

So a new entry Point is needed for sure ... i doubt that all n3ds users will have a browser... i dont mind the waiting to be honest.

oh well i didnt know that.....im guessing its just 8.1 Japanese n3DS consoles with no browser......worst come to worst, im sure there will be a 9.0-9.2 update released on a game.....but maybe this is the reasoning behind the delay for n3DS release then(and rumored alt entry point), kinda surprised at that though.....no browser
