Hi guys,

I was testing out some controllers, i have 2 controllers, 1 fake DS4, which works perfectly, and a xbox 360 clone controller, both with a dongle, which work perfectly fine.

Would a fake dual shock 3 controller work out of the box, if i connect it thru cable first, and are there others i can use without a ns lite dongle?

thanks for the advice

no, just wired.
The 360 doesnt have Bluetooth, it uses a proprietary 2.4Ghz wireless signal

Hi Sonic,

As my 2 other dongled controllers work, it would seem that a controller with a dongle will most likely work, right?

kind regards

No, a controller having a dongle doesn't guarantee compatibility. My 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4G has a dongle, it only partially works (sticks don't work, buttons do), my Gamesir Cyclone 2 has a dongle and that doesn't work at all.

You will just have to test controllers, all the patch does is turn off the security check, after that, it's just down to whether or not the controller uses the right version of Xinput that the 360 understands.

Excuse me sir, but I belive you are mistaken. My Gamesir Cyclone 2 works just fine with USBDSecPatch, so long as I hold start and select until the green light for XInput appears.

I also just tested my Gamesir G7 SE, I haven't tested extensively think as long as the polling rate is set to 1000hz and not 500hz or 250hz it will also be reconginsed as the 1000hz mode shows the controller as a 360 controller not as an Xbox One controller on PC, the main downside to 1000hz is the impulse triggers and maybe the headphone jack won't work.

EDIT:

On the G7 SE you can switch between 360 and XB1 modes pressing the xbox button and the screenshot button for 3 secs
