Hacking USB loader

Hello all,
I need some help. I am brand new to this and have spent the last 2 days trying to get Modmii to work. I have followed all the steps to a T.
Everything installed correctly but when I go into usb loader and my external HD is attached it kicks me out to the main screen.
I would like to back up my 7 yr olds games but cannot seem to get this work. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a black WII with 4.2.

download cfg usb loader on the a sdcard.

then use USB Loader, since its only a starter channel for the other USB loader apps, it isn't actually a game loader itself.

This is what I did and it worked.

I agree. I had the same problem- what I ended up doing was putting the actual USB loader on my sd and keeping my games on my USB harddrive.

Just tried this and it didn't work. The light on the HHD blinks for a few seconds the screen goes black and then kicks me back to the main Wii menu.
Anyone have any other ideas what the problem could be.

That sounds like you didn't install a cIOS, or in a wrong slot so the loader knows nothing about it.

Can you run this Application (just unzip it and place the folder in the apps folder on your SD, then run via HBC)? It should create a file which text you should copy and paste here.

Just wanted to make sure that with installing the cfg usb loader, all I did was put it in the root of the SDC and nothing else. Then I clicked on the usb loader on the Wii menu screen. Is this correct, or I am missing a step or 2?

I click on the usb loader channel on the main Wii menu, the HD blinks a couple of times and it still kicks me back to the main menu.
I am about to give up here. I cannot get this to work. Someone out there has to know.
Please help.
