# downloadinstall = [0] 1
# 0 => download cover art automatically when you install game
# 1 => don't download cover art when you install game
downloadinstall = 0

Abou this bit in the config file, shouldn't it be swapped? usually 0 is for disabling a feature?

It's just a typo in the readme. 0 means don't download

ahhh... so the default is "OFF" ....thats what i thought

does the new widescreen feature work with neorame's background? if so, what would the config be?

Ive tried to reformat it so that it works, but when the cover art gets resized theres some wierd shading business going on that neorame himself will have to look at I guess.

Most of us have our images folder on the root of the SD card. You have yours set to usbloader\images are you sure your images in the right location?

changed it to the root, and changed version of usbloader, now i am getting just the ? no image boxart on every game.

My titles are all the games proper names, i think i changed them all a while ago.
But i havent got a complete titles.txt, does that matter.

So frustrating, because it looks so nice

If your game is not listed in the titles.txt then the loader just uses the name in the name on the HDD. The Titles.txt was just setup to simplify some of the names. If the game code does not match an image then it will display no image depending on which version of ul you are using and the settings in the config file.

Atleast this has been my understanding throughout this development process.

Another important note is that the config settings seems to be sensitive to spaces so make sure you setup your config verbatim to that of the config sample. i.e.

downloadinstall = 0

hey hungyip. is it ultimatew or ultimate_w for background layout?

this was in the config

Code:
#ÂÂÂÂultimate_w => 12 lines of games / page widescreen mode
#ÂÂÂÂ(ultimatew is the default when user set widescreen = 1)

The root cause of the install problem is found. It is because of the FreeImage library. A fix would probably be released tonight.

no, the layout option is not necessary if you set your cords by yourself.

Ok, thanks

wait, what's that PAL/NTSC difference?
I'm making a background too. Do they use different resolutions?

Yes they do ever so slightly... PAL (50 Hz) leaves Black border at the bottom, if using image for NTSC (60hz) Image

PAL (50Hz) image size required 640 x 530
NTSC (60Hz) image size required 640 x 480

Does anyone have the like to that pack of box art resized for widescreen? I know I saw a member post it in this thread but have no idea where to begin to start looking lol

Since I started this project, I haven't had a chance to play with the loader.

I saw many great backgrounds (I personally love the black one with black channel), but i never have a chance to customize my loader yet.

After this fix, I should take a break and spend some time with my wii =)

The fix would be out soon.

I will remove the image resize functionality, and now if you turn on widescreen mode, the loader would try to find the XXXXXXW.png (XXXXXX is game id) for you.

thanks, I was having black bars, now I understand why.
