I was testing downloading Nintendont multiple times last night. I launched USBLGX and started a Nintendont download. Network initialized and it downloaded successfully. I waited about a minute and did it again; it downloaded successfully again, this time it didn't show Network initializing because it had already been initialized. I waited a long time, maybe 15 minutes; the screensaver was on. I tried to download Nintendont again and it worked again no problem. I then started a cover download, it said 127 were missing and it started to look for the discart images. It jumped to the end and said 127 weren't downloaded. I then went to try to download Nintendont again and it failed this time.

I don't have to click the network icon in HBC to get the network working again. Just exiting UBLGX and relaunching it from the forwarder channel is sufficient.

(The following is related to the 1259 mod. Again I am doing this on a Wii U in vWii). So I woke up this morning to see that it was still downloading the artwork (about 8 hours later). I don't remember what it was downloading but it still had about over 2000 items left to go. I left and ran a few errands and when I came home I saw that my Wii U was shutdown. I turned it back on and tried downloading the artwork again and it said I had 2488 missing files. I started the download again and left for some more errands. When I came home (only a few hours later) I noticed I was back at the Wii System Menu. Started USB Loader GX and tried downloading artwork again. It again said I was missing 2488 files. Started downloading again. Ate lunch while watching 2 TV series (about and hour and a half long). Came back to check on the download and noticed it was again back at the Wii System Menu. Loaded up USB Loader GX again and again it said I was missing 2488 items. Tried download artwork again and it still said I was missing 2488 files and started the download again. This time I left it up on my TV and watched it until completion which didn't take all that long. For my setup it seems normal that I am missing that many artwork files because I am assuming they don't exist. When I check the save file they are all files that are for custom artwork. So as far as this new mod version goes I think the problem with downloading the artwork files is resolved. I just have never seen my Wii U turn off before or exit back to the System Menu before without me telling it to. I'm wondering if there is some kind of timeout that will kick me back to the system menu and then another timeout that will eventually turn off my Wii U when on the system menu.

can you test the temporisation?
download, wait, try again and see if it's blocked.
if it is, it matches what I noticed, and it not happening after an error.

if it's only after an error, I will need to see which error triggers the bug and why. on download incomplete it should free the memory too.

updated Nintendont a few times at once and it works. Waited 2 minutes, 10 minutes and it still works.
Tried update the covers which I known I am missing only a Nintendont Channel cover. Completed with the cover still missing and then re-try updating Nintendont - still works.

I didn't retry re-downloading many covers though.

What I suggested was just my thinking w/o knowing how the codes work. So it could be all wrong.

So at least, waiting is not triggering the issue.
Downloading didn't too, so there's maybe another issue with the covers.
but if it were a specific cover, you wouldn't be able to download it at all, even on next reboot. so maybe a memory issue with cover download. I'll have to check again.

thanks for the test.

So after my last post I started downloading my artwork again but this time I left my TV on and watched what it was doing. I don't know at what point this happened but all of a sudden I noticed that it failed and it showed this screen here. https://goo.gl/photos/x9FJ6CiVqvKGaF9b6 (the file was too large for me to upload to this post). Then shortly after it went back to the system menu. So that would explain why I saw my Wii at the system menu when I checked on it hours later. Not sure if there is some kind of time out that will automatically turn it off after a certain time of no activity.

this is with 1259 or mod1 ?
I saw another user reporting this with 1259 while downloading covers. It could help me find the bug. thanks for this screenshot. I hope it will contains good info.

This was with the Mod1 version. I restarted the download and video taped the whole thing until it brought me back to that code dump message. It's currently uploading to YouTube. When it is done I will update this post with the link to that video. Unless someone else posts after I post this in which I will then make a new post with the link.

I checked your codedump.
it crashed in imagedownloader (that's good sign) in the banner check function.
So I suppose it crashed while downloading custom banners for gamecube.

I found the issue.

Thanks for that report :)

Sorry, your video is probably not needed anymore.
That will teach me not testing my changes properly before committing new versions.
But thank you for all users who reported that bug :)

the freeze issue is harder to fix though ...

I'm not able to run Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands.

I know it uses to be an issue but considering I am using The lattest release of the loader, I'm surprised.

What options should I set?

I only get a black screen, not even starting...

Thank you

@Cyan I know you said my video would probably be useless but it just finished uploading so I thought I would post it. At about the 2 minute 20 second mark is where you see it doing the code dump. I'm going to assume it code dumps at the same spot although I did not test that. If you think it would be beneficial I will do more tests seeing if it code dumps at that same spot. Anyway, here is the link.

That game has an anti piracy patching protection.
disable all patches, remove video patching (use console default), remove cheats, remove language patch, etc.
Maybe even disable "return to" but I think users said it worked with it. Just try.

If you think it would be beneficial I will do more tests
if you want to do more tests, maybe try the fixed version ? (I didn't compile it, but I can do it for you)
I watched the video, you can see the word "banner" right before the crash.

edit:
1259 mod2

Shouldn't freeze on banner download. (I didn't test it, only added a minimum banner size check)

That worked. Thank you so much!

I thought about fixing those games with anti-patch protection by forcing the options to be disabled, but some games have anti-patch patches, like Kirby.
If the user want to use cheatcode, I can't force all settings to OFF in case he applied the anti-anti-patch or else cheats will not be applied even if he enabled the option and he won't understand why.
So, I think it's better this way. even if users might need to look a little on compatibility website or forums.

the modded version are beta tests.
I needed users (with specific issues) to test them and report.

it's not meant at stable release for the end users.
if you don't have the issues related to that modded version, there's no need to update. same if you don't want or don't have time to beta test it.
I always don't understand why the beta tests had 80 downloads and I never got bug/issues/fixes reports.. so I stopped releasing them in public. but for that error, I didn't remember who had the download issues, it was faster to release it here.

I think I fixed the issue anyway, I released it just as a last verification that the bug is fixed before releasing r1260.

I've just created a new emunand because the old one got corrupted. Everything was working fine but now all of a sudden I get the error message: "Neek NAND path selección failed" each time I try to load an emunand fame with Neek option.

The paths and folders are the same as before, What am I doing wrong?

PD: I can enter emunand's System menu vía forwarder at the real home menu but not from the loader. I've tried with another emunand and same result.

I'm starting to think I messed something up in the loader

PD2: Do I need any file in the SD card? maybe I deleted a file or something...

I think the punch out movies not playing are caused from a slow HDD read because in other games they only stutter. My HDD is from the WD passport series and is usb 3.0, if I remember correctly. could it be that I need a Y cable for more power or is the hard drive just crappy? what hard drives do you recommend?

WD is perfect for Wii, it appears your format method is rather slow, use Fat32 as this one works perfect on my Wii.

@Cyan I forgot to mention while I was doing my testing the other day with r1259 I can confirm that downloading covers worked fine "a bit slow but that's cause of my slow connection in this house" as I managed to download covers for Wii and GC games just fine, not sure if you needed someone to check but hope it helps.

I have it formatted as FAT32. what do you use to put the games on the hard drive? I use the wii backup manager, could that be the source of the problem? also I have a crashing problem. on the error screen at the top it says build number 116829. is this for USB Loader GX or the CIOS?
