I just figured out that FE:RD is one of those extremely uncommon games where values get loaded into random areas of memory upon game boot on some Wii's. This issue's exact cause is unknown, and has no known solution. One of the sites I referenced to figure this out is here. Refer to posts 2 and 6 on that page. If it doesn't work, it won't work with your Wii ever (unless you're extremely lucky), since the offsets for some of the codes' values are allocated randomly.

Edit: I also mixed up Radiant Dawn (Wii) and Path of Radiance (GC) for a second. :/

well that just sucks.i suppose i'll have to play this game without codes(sigh)

Cyan,

I have a request for you. What would be really useful is the ability to block apps from showing up in the "nand channels" list so that only games show up. A custom "hide" feature to remove unnecessary clutter.

As a global option, the hide feature could also be used to hide non-working Gamecube games. In which case a new section called "show hidden" would become useful, so hidden apps/games could be shown again in the event you want to access them or un-hide them permanently.

Cyan.

is it possible to get an older version of usb loader gx like, r1180 or so?

I tried playing emunand on two nes games, and Im pretty sure they worked
when i didn't use usb loader gx r1230 .

edit: I might have been to fast to judge.
I tried tales of monkey island 1 . wiiware . and it works on emunand..

what didnt work was 2 nes games. super mario bros 2 and zelda 2 .

I was wondering.. if we play super mario bros 2, wad-style, on wii menu. Can you use cheats ?
or through fce ultra gx , nes emulator .

could it be my d2x file? ive v9beta(r47) base56

I tried Freethewads but it didn't work either. When i start smb2 my wiimote turns off and the TV is black.

This is also when I install and play from the Wii Menu, which i found strange .

edit: Fixed it. Forced NTFS in Game - Settings.- So, yeah, thank you Cyan for emunand in usb loader gx, otherwise I couldn't play my VC at all :)

You might encounter some VC/Wiiware not working.
It's either a cIOS issue (sometime old versions are better, especially for N64 VC games), sometime it's the NAND Loader (you need to use neek2o instead, which is not implemented yet in the loader).

I don't know if you can use cheatcode with RealNAND Channels. I know it doesn't work with EmuNAND ones. (memory addresses are different, so you can use Cheatcodes, but you need to re-create them yourself with a debugger).

yupp and i heard u can use cheats (ocarnia) with VC emunands if you change ...

"You have two different way to launch the channels (VC/WiiWare channels, not the layout mode).
Go into the settings > Loader Settings > Channel launching method : you have "content" or "boot.dol".
Try both settings, it could help, but it's not guarantee." - Cyan

One guy said : That actually worked. Thanks man, appreciate it.

so im gonna try it :)

hi,
I tried reinstalling cios249 and cios250 [v10] (to get sgmgx running) and it disabled my usb loader gx.
does anyone know how do I get it back working again?

is it needed to change the region?
Can't you can launch region from the loader?

MacroKrome:
- check that USBLoaderGX settings are correctly set to use slot249
- reinstall cIOS 249 with base56 (maybe installation went wrong).

I am sure that I installed with base 56. I also tried reinstalling and it still did not work.
I can't start the loader at all, so I can't get to settings.
My dad installed the usb loader 2-3 years ago, before I got into wii hacking myself, is there a need to reinstall the usb-loaderGX channel or something like that?

if it's 2-3 years, it's really old.
You should update it.

there are two different installation version :
Full channel (with the loader inside) : This one is old too. Please, don't install or use this version.
Forwarder channel + external loader : This is the one you need to use.

Look in my signature, there's a link to the latest version (r1231).
inside the zip, there are three folders, open the folder named "IOS249" and you will find 3 files.
Copy these 3 files on your SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/ folder, then launch the loader from the Homebrew Channel.
(Edit: You don't need the boot.elf, but you need the boot.dol, icon.png and meta.xml)

If you still can't launch it, delete the config files (in /config/ folder, or in /apps/usbloader_gx/ folder, there's a file named GXGlobal, delete it).

You can try to launch the loader from your existing channel after you updated the loader. If it launches the old one, then you have the "full channel". if it launched the new one, then you have the "forwarder" channel which is loading the loader located on your SD card.
If you have the full channel and want to install the forwarder channel, you can find it in the download tab on googlecode.

Hmm,using the virtual memory card option for Pokemon XD and Pokemon colosseum seems to completely stop my ocarina codes from working on these 2 games.when I disable it,the codes go back to working. Is there any thing that can be done about this?

edit:pokemon xd seems to be rapid firing the A button when I press it.hope someone can fix this.BTW I am loading the GC games through usbloadergx+diosmios

I read the new filtering system post but it didn't answer my specific problem or I didn't understand it. I have games showing up on the channels list that don't have a banner because I uninstalled them but the save is still in the emunand. Is there a way to hide them without deleting the save file?

If you uninstalled a channel from emunand, it most likely still displays because it's still cached. You should be able to make the channel not display by doing the following:
1.) Go to Features Settings (Settings icon-> Page 2-> Features Settings) and disable "Cache Titles".
2.) Reload USB Loader GX.
3.) Reenable "Cache Titles".
4.) Reload USB Loader GX once more (just for posterity, might not actually be required)
5.) Check if the title is still displayed.

Also, I thought you need to manually delete emunand save files from USB using WiiExplorer or a PC (Although there might be an option for it that I just can't remember seeing).

I did that, and they still appear. Although I forgot to mention, it's not the actual banner that appears, it looks like static so I doubt it's a problem with the cache. The NAND was dumped using USB Loader GX itself, with all the saves that were in the original NAND, if that matters.

The loader doesn't list games based on the savegame presence.
if you don't have the channel installed, it shouldn't list it.

but if it's listed, you can follow the guide I gave you.
Look at the bottom, there's a spoiler "how to hide system channel". you can do it with any titles, not only channels.

Thanks, I'll do that, but it's weird. All the games listed are games that I used to have installed on the real NAND but no longer have, so I just assumed it went by save file. I don't know a lot about how Wiiware/VC games are listed in the NAND, but is it possible for games to leave behind a title or some other file after unistalling?
