which partition format are on the drive?
does it work fine when launching the dol from HBC? (is that only a problem when using channel/forwarder?)

Single FAT32 partition, same issue running directly from hbc, and it's an imaged drive from a western digital passport which runs fine on the same wii.

I'm sorry, I don't know why it's doing that.
maybe try version 2.3 (3.0+ has some issue reports about HDD detection problem).

So I tried putting the usbloader dol on an sd card and it now loads fine, however returning to usbloader gx after running a game or app and the hard drive shuts off again. So it appears it's good for one access then after that you have to reset the drive by either unplugging it or shutting the wii off. Pretty odd. Anyway thanks for the quick responses.

Be sure that you don't have "dual port" enabled in the loader settings.
It's switching on/off the ports one by one, and some Wii doesn't reconnect the drives correctly (mine doesn't).

Though, dual port is possible only with hermes or d2x v9. I don't think you are using that accidentally.

Maybe the drive have sleep time still enabled? (but it shouldn't make any problem, but be sure to disable it if you can)

the drive is self powered?
Could you try on another Wii?
seeing if it's the drive or Wii/setting/loader problem.

I'm sorry that you need to disconnect it each time you return to loader :(

I have ideas on how the above mockup could work, but I don't know if it's easy to code it.
I'm still thinking about it. But there are still a lot of old bug/suggestion which need to be done too.

e2zippo:
Sorry I still haven't try to install the channel you said.
UNEO (forwarder) and generic forwarder worked fine.

The channel for Snes9xGX is also a forwarder.

Just to be sure, the channels you want to load are on the real NAND right?
not on Emulated Nand?

The forwarders need access to the SD or USB.
If you launch a channel on Emulated NAND, the SD/USB is mounted as NAND and is then unavailable to the homebrew.

So, if you have the emuNAND on SD and the /apps/snes9xgx/boot.dol on SD too, the boot.dol will not be accessible and the Wii reboot because it couldn't be loaded.

The channels are on the real NAND yes.

yes, that's what I meant. letting the user create multiple profile (could also be locked with parental control). a "kid profile" and a "dad profile" ;) It was the main idea when I saw this theme mockup:
wiism-mockup.png
by @PJM from this post. Each tab could be a different profile. I really like this visual, and maybe it could be done. but not in the near future. first I'll release a v3.1 with DM/Devo support.

I hope you can make it happen~ :D

I have r1201 and can't seem to get the categories menu to work right. wasn't it changed to

The Categories have now 4 different states:
[ ] Not checked = Games containing this category are not filtered (like before)

[√] Enabled = All games containing this category will be displayed (like before)
[X] Forbidden = All games containing this category will NOT be displayed.
[+] Required = All games NOT containing this category will NOT be displayed.

all i ever get is the first two. Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe you are in the Game settings?
in the game settings, you can only set or remove categories to the current game.

This new checkboxes are available in the "Show Category" top menu only.

I figured out my problem. I installed the gx channel not the forwarder. so everytime i launched the channel it was always running v3.0 not the r1201 dol i put in the apps folder. One of the Duh moments. :)

but thanks for trying to help Cyan.

Can you please try to add an option to start Wiiware with neek2o (like the one in wiiflow/postloader) - it works with neek2o v92

I never tested neek2o (didn't have time).
Neek2o support is on the suggestion list and should be added later when one of the dev find time to look at it.

I'm currently trying to fix Devolution launching.
Someone is willing to test for me?

@anyone
I found the link to create your own 3D boxart, http://gbatemp.net/topic/156442-tutorial-make-ur-own-3d-cover/page__st__15 , but I'm not very good at Photoshop.
Anyone willing to make 3~4 for ones that don't have box art via GX downloads (or I can't even find any on the net either)? Then we could submit those for GX downloads too.

There's even more simple.
I think there's a tool called WiiCover Maker/builder (or something like that).
It's also on GBAtemp.

Edit:
I found this : AutoJaquette Wii beta3 by Spayrosam

I was sure there's another one with a GUI. I'm looking for it.

Edit2:
Seems it's that one, the updated version has a GUI.
this program require registration and include many protections :(
Run it in virtual environment, author seems the kind to put malicious code and protection in a program just to feel superior to other users.

I promise myself never ever touch neek2o, not even with a ten foot pole. Playing around with Wii serial number got my WiiConnect24 screwed, I had to format and get a new Wii friend code.

I'll give it a shot, NTSC-U only here. Need a gamelist?

So since it seems to have malicious code in it, I can't think that's a good idea to use it, right?

d.d.d.: i think Cyan was referring to something else, the sofware actually does a good job, i used it a few times, so do many others.
The problem is more with the author himself, there has been discussions about his code related to legality, i will not go any further into it, just read AJWII topic on GBA temp (Cyan also linked to it in his post)

On that matter, you can use the latest AJWii for free now, there is a keygen for it made bij Spayrosam himself, and he released the generator too (i have it myself).
I personally think the software itself is safe to use.

Latest AJWII (8.1.3): http://tgames.fr.nf/logicielswii/autojaquettes-wii-topic-officiel-t5296-765.html (post 15 on this page)
Key Generator: http://tgames.fr.nf/logicielswii/autojaquettes-wii-topic-officiel-t5296-795.html (post 6 on this page)

You decide wether you want to use it or not.

I didn't speak about the legality.

I was speaking about a (apparently? I didn't launch it) malicious program he provided publicly on the Temp, targeted to Pepxl (but available to everyone else!) to do something malicious to his computer.
and after Pepxl launched it, Spayrosam left mockery comments and said "Everyone gets what they deserve".
It's not a very adult behavior. instead of helping each other, they are looking for a fight and leaving malicious program available to anyone.

I personally don't understand why locking a program which create covers.
No need to unlock the program if there's a keygen for free. Make it already unlocked by default. (or at least, provide a package with both the program and the keygen, no?)
To me it looks like a test to see if his key algorithm can/will be easily cracked.

The keygen provides only "freeware" keys which limit the program functionality.
Is AJWii a shareware? how much does it cost to get a full key? what features does it unlock?
My opinion is that the scene should share what they know and create, not lock it, unless you want to make money (like no$GBA, the dev version was shareware, but the public version was free).

If Gametdb was locked to download cover, I don't think it would have become such reference.

It's offtopic, but I said what I thought.
I think tools and knowledges should be shared, not create fights between users and creator.

Hmm, i didn't noticed any missing functions...but i take your word for it. You seem to be more up to date with everything that has happend in the past on this subject.

Thanx for explaining.
