That works!

downloaded the r843.dol, renamed it to SD\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol, then

removed the config files (so I guess it created new ones)..

Everything works, including NSMB!

Thank you so much!

That's great. Yeah it created new default setting config files. Glad I could help.

Would that work for me too. I tried the new dol like you suggested. Now the loader is not showing any of my boxart. It still freezes when using the wiimote.

Not sure about the freezing with the Wiimote but if your boxart isn't showing check the custom path. Delete the configs might help.

did this usb loader support for fat or fat 32
FAT32, yes. You'll have to download a revision higher than 828 for that.
what i need to install to play wii from fat 32
On your computer you can use Wii Backup Manager to convert .ISO to .WBFS (these are the files that run on FAT32). On your Wii just have a revision 828 or higher as r-win mentioned. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you must have a .WBFS game already installed. If not it will ask you to format to WBFS. Not sure if it's necessary for GX, but CFG says to place games into a folder titled "wbfs" on the root.

you'll need to change the global cios setting to 222. If you don't have a wbfs partition, you cannot do this from inside the application. Open the configuration file (/config/GXGlobal.cfg) and search for the line that says cios= or ios=. Change the 0 to a 1, save the file, and try again.

You should place it in the /wbfs folder. If the loader stackdumps on you, pleace let us now which revision you use, and write down the stackdump (or make a picture). That would help us a lot.
Also, try another revision. 833 seems pretty stable, I hear.

Go to settings (Gears button at the bottom left), go to the second page, and click Paths. You can change the paths to where ever you want, and you can put your covers there. It is capable of downloading Ocarina, and to create the patch files.

Where can I find a list of compatible drives? My buddy is having problems. Here is what is going on.

He is using usb loader gx (updated to the latest version 841). Using a WD my passport essential (320 GB) and it works great normally. I was just wondering if you know of any issues or limits though. He has about 174 GB still free on the drive, and only 56 games on it and it works perfect! only prob is if he adds one more game (and that's any game, none specific) he gets a code dump error when reading the drive. I have tried many variances and also loaded the game w/o the drive via WBFS Manager and same thing. So i know for sure its having to do with the hd after adding any one game. Any suggestions/ideas?? thanks in advance.

RavRob, it's not a problem with the drive, but with revision 841. Let him update again, to 843.

In fact, let me explain this in more detail: since 841 a new feature is to mark new games, if they've never been played. Since you install a new game, it should be marked. Before doing so, rev 841 will request the amount of times played, but it will not check if the statistics for that game are actually available. Since those statistics will not be available (you've just installed the game!), it'll request nothing, but uses that in the calculation. There is your crash...

I seem to be having issues using ocarina codes. Every game I try them with produces a black screen at startup.

I am on the latest revision of usb loader gx, I have tried reformatting my sd card, i have tried deleting the config files. No luck.

Any idea what the issue might be?
