Hacking USB Loader GX

Update to my DSI error problem FYI.

Using revision 638 its still there. Even after removing the whole config directory and starting from scratch. Used (2) then (1) to generate my own wiitdb.zip URL. Downloaded that file, placed in config folder.

On using (2) I can see the information. And for most games its fine. But soon as I use (2) on Wii Sports Resort, then press to backup, code dump with DSI error.

Can confirm though that if present, the full wiitdb.zip file is not loaded. No information is displayed with the full file in place. With just the custom file, then information is displayed.

Excuse me? For one this loader is awesome, what other loaders mimic the Wii menu? Download your covers though the loader that way they wont be the wrong size, That Dipshit bit with put in for a joke the coder has a sense of humor. I laughed when that popped up first time. Parental controls are to stop children messing with the settings not to sheild them from the odd rude word, it should be your job as a parent or whatever to do such a thing.

No other loader is updated so frequently. For that reason alone, its top of my list.

BUT, funny or not, I agree it's kinda funny, but totally uncalled for an app to call someone names cause they just don't know all the facts about a highly complex piece of software. Not complex ?? shut your mouth before you comment. Some people are lucky just to get they're wii modded even with noob friendly programs. I'm not one of them, but I'll defend them. I was one once and so were you(not referring to anyone). The coder is just degrading themselves by adding this garbage in the code. It's just my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Hi guys

First off, awesome loader, been following is since the start and it just keeps getting better and better.

Now, i'm sure this has been asked before but after two days of searching still no solution.
I can't seem to get my new rock band drums to work with the loader.
I have wanin's cIOS 13b at IOS249 on wanin's 4.0pal with rev634.

Rockband 2 NTSC loads fine but doesn't register the drums, am i right in thinking in need to install hermes IOS222/223 to get them to work?

like i said i've been searching for two days and all i keep finding is they should work with cIOS12+

Any subtle hint in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

seconded...no other loader comes close, and i'll sully my wii with nothing else, but that message and some of the things in the readme seem to be more what a child thinks is funny than actually being funny.

Hey guys if we paid for the loader I could understand you being upset. But as we haven't lets just let the creators have their fun. I also have been following this thread since about 50 pages ago and it is nice to see the loader other than a few small issues becomeing a lot more stable and less buggy. Also we gotto remember the small problems we have is thru the loader evolveing with new functions if it had just been left as it was say around revision 500 then by now it would be as perfect as it could be other than the problems we have with revision 13 which affects all the modern loaders. Just think 6 months ago there wasn't such a thing as a usb loader and now look what we have.

sometimes it gets stuck party way through downloading covers, and pressing Cancel makes the noise first time, but then it takes ages to cancel. pressing the Cancel button again seems to do nothing.

edit: and if you restart the wii because its hung, you have a half downloaded cover, and when loading that game, the wii restarts. have to manually delete the pngs. http://wiitdb.com to the rescue!

Can confirm I saw the exact same thing on Rev634m last night.
After a full download and delete config file all looked OK, press 2 on games etc etc, but on Wii Sports Resort press B to go back and code dump every time. No biggie, just FYI.

Delete your config file as well before restarting.

It would really be nice if the update program deleted your config.txt file automatically if possible.

I can't get "Nutrition Matters" working on the GX Loader, I tried all of the different Video Modes but all I get is a black screen, help please?

Deleted the WiiDB.zip (I find it useless info anyway ... I have the game, if I want to know more I'll play it

)

put 630.elf in the directory (as boot.elf of course), and all is fine now. (so likely related to wiidb.zip I'm sure)

I'll do an upgrade later now that the WiiDB is gone.

All compiles are tested on my own PAL Wii 4.1E cIOS Rev13b before being uploaded. Download and use at own risk. I cannot offer any support for these compiles. Remember the best method of updating is via the update option in the settings.

Ok I've been looking thru the pages here and I just seem to be missing something. I updated a few days ago and noticed a description box when pressing the 2 button. Did some reading and found out about the new site WiiTDB and all that jazz. But here is what I am missing. I cant get any info to display about any games.

Now I also read that you are supposed to get the file thru the loader, and not from the site, due to wii memory limitations and the file being custom made for you with only the info for the games that you have. Now here is what I dont understand. How do I get the file with the game info for my games?

I tried deleting my covers and doing a fresh download, but no go. I also do not see a separate option to download this file anywhere.

I tried deleting all my GX stuff, including all config files, then putting an older rev on there, and doing an 'update all', and still no file.

I tried looking everywhere on my SD card for 'the file', and it is nowhere. Thought maybe there might be a custom path option for it, but nothing.

Ok, so what am I missing here? Is it the team working on something and that feature is disabled for now? Or, am I just a retard?

Any help would be great.

I don't disagree with this point of view either -- after all, anyone could simply download the source code and remove the message if they truly found it offensive. The developers don't owe us anything; it's entirely the other way around. And other than one unrealistic and easily offended individual, everyone agrees it's the best loader with the best team behind it.

However, I think that inserting offensive messages doesn't serve any purpose. It has such a professional look and feel that allowing for such messages just doesn't fit in with the rest of the presentation and my personal opinion is they should not be tolerated.
