I'm sorry, I wasn't specific I guess. I was more asking where to place them on the SD (directories), so that gx recognizes them.

ty!

Default folder is SD root/images for box covers and SD root/images/disc for disc covers.
You can also change the path location in the loader settings if you wish to place them elsewhere.

trust me it goes back and forth between the wii and the computer that often its not funny i would of noticed, just usb loader wouldn't write to it for some reason... (it was actually a minisd card with an adaptor) there was a few programs that didn't really like it but it done its job for the main part... oh and i actually broke the switch off it too and had to tape it up like an old cassete tape to turn the write protect off

oh and to the guy looking to download coverart manually, also try out this site for your covers... for all the stuff thats missing or if you dont really wanna download 1000+ covers at once to fill up your memory card

edit: hell yeah... just had a look on the irc channel... w00t for cios rev12

is it normal that when I load the USB Loader GX from my 4gb SDHC card and then I try to download covers or change some directories preferences, the program says something like "No SD detected, insert SD"?

PS: another thing, why my forwarder channel doesn't work if I plug the sdhc card inside the wii, though it works with my normal sd?

Congratulations... This loader is great...

Is it possible for hte loader tell the game: THERE is a DVD in the drive ?
It is for those games that works only with a DVD in the drive....

I also have another question:
Has anybody got a solution to run RedSteel on a USB loader ? How ?

as per the first page, here is the code dump I'm receiving. rev416 installed on a console with cIOSrev9.

CODE DUMP:

80a8fa7c: 80030008 38630004 7C6A1B78 2F800000
80a8fa8c: 419E0038 81640000 7C090378 48000014
80a8fa9c: 7D2A4B78 81290008 2F890000 419E001C (note: the first address in that line may be 7DZA, not 7D2A. I couldn't tell for sure)

fyi: problem persists with rev417.

All right, rev409 fixes this problem. 316, 416, and 417 all have the code dump issues for me, but 409 is clean - just as others are reporting.

well i read the front page over and over watched the videos so now im gonna ask my question... anyone know why im getting code dumps when trying to download the box cover images and im getting code dumps when trying to install games from my disk to usb drive im using rev419

im a complete idiot i read a few posts above and got my answer sorry for the stupid question... i reverted back to rev409 and i can download covers and install games from disk. i dont know if your already aware of the issue with the newer revision that you cant install via disk
Basically, the answer to these types of questions appears to be "BECAUSE YOU ARE THE QA TESTER, NO ONE ON THE TEAM APPEARS TO HAVE TIME TO ACTUALLY TEST ANYTHING BEFORE INTRODUCING A CHANGE TO THE CODE."

Or something like that...but I guess if they did actually start taking the time to test things, then we wouldn't be blessed with the dozen or so revisions per day we all love so much!

Is there an SDHC compiled forwarder WAD for this? I tried using the one posted on the front page with my SDHC card and it just reboots me back to the system menu.
with my SDHC card works fine. Check if you have placed the file correctly
SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol

Is there a channel wad with the latest revision, or is r366 the latest you can get?

use the link in the first post, but install the FORWARDER instead.
it's a channel that just boots straight to:
SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol

that way you just have to update the boot.dol and the channel updates itself automatically.

Latest revision (alpha/beta/whatever)
r420

*Added Update Button to the Settings which can Update to newer Revs (only seen
when in UnlockMode)

**Big Thanks to CorneliousJD for Hosting the DOLs)**

*Reverted ardi's stuff which made codedumps on the Download (sorry ardi commit
it again when its fixed)

I checked the source as I'm not at home to test it, and it appears that there should be an update_path option at the loader to give the directory you want to update
wink.gif

The default one is of course
"SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/"

OR
check the site http://usbloadergx.koureio.net/
for elf, channel, forwarder, icon, meta, covers pack, language files, covers pack, disc pack, old hermes 222 which was compatible blabla

(NEWS page informs about the important stuff)
(plz read first post or help page at site before asking)

People who cant load the loader or having some troubles
they should try to use .ELF
since .ELF is a lot more accurate in processing code

AWESOME, auto updates!!! Now hopefully everyone will stop asking.

Quick question on the updates. My loader directory is apps/usbloader/.
Will it update from ANY directory, or do you need to use the usbloadergx (not sure what the currect defult directory is)?

i'm pretty sure its going to HAVE to be in SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\boot.dol

also its not AUTO updates, its the option to update once you know a new release is out.
it would take too long to initialize the network and check the server every time you boot the loader.
(not to mention it would be un-necessary traffic on my servers)

Great! We finally have auto updates, I've been waiting for this
smile.gif
. But don't you guys think the dol file is getting a little big? It's like 2.5 mb now takes a while to load.

with the new forwarder it takes about 2 seconds to load up.

Well I think the size of the .dol (2.5MB) is a small price to pay for the best loader out there.

Look at the interface compared to anything else.
