Hi,

Look at this video :

The author says there is a USB Loader GX version with -DIOS MIOS support called r1218 and also provides a link consisting of two files: boot.elf and boot.dol . I know where to boot.dol goes but what about boot.elf?

Also, is this a hoax? Was there in one version DIOS MIOS to USB Loader GX? Or is the author using a large SD-card for all 22 games?

What you think?

Edit: This comment makes me believe its for real.

First of all, when you say GX latest 3.0, if you mean the latest official release, there's actually a newer one out. The official release was before the whole USB thing was even possible. Here's a link : http://www.mediafire.com/?1voyas284vs6qiv take the boot.dol file from the 249 folder in the download and put it into the /apps/usbloader_gx folder on your Wii replacing the existing one.

Another Question .

Using DMLizard , downloading DIOS MIOS.. I got a file called IOS249[56]-d2x9b47.wad .

I was wondering if this file can replace cIOS249[56]-d2x-v6-final ?

I mean this file "IOS249[56]-d2x9b47.wad" is a cIOS right?

I never heard of none Custom IOS with d2x included...

Also to play Gamecube games on USB must your FAT32 partition be active and primary and first ?

Or is a simple FAT32 Format enough?

Well, there's actually an even newer version of USB Loader GX out
http://www.mediafire.com/download/tz77d89i3tofk7z/USBLoaderGX_r1218_mod01.7z

The boot.dol and boot.elf are basically just different formats of the same thing and you can use ether one but the DOL file is the more "normal" one if you're using the cIOS that's installed by that WAD file you'll probably want the one in the 249 folder.

Yes, that file you got can replace v6 final. It's just a later version of the same thing.
D2X is a cIOS type and the newest type at that.

Primary : yes
active : doesn't really matter
first : yes but if it's the only partition, this also counts
FAT32 : yes, but the cluster size also has to be 32k or smaller (bigger will break it)

There are several other little things that will break it like I think the drive needs to be MBR and not GPT and the drive can't use 4k sector size (in other words, if the whole drive is bigger than 2TB it won't work) but most of these little problems are fairly uncommon

Hi Stephanie to clear your questions download modmii for windows by xflax use the command line utility to download d2x v10 beta53 249(56) 250(57) wads.

d2x wads are an advancement to waninkoko's cios r19
USB Loader GX r1218 does exist, it is by the official team, it does have some bugs I would say use r1217 instead. It's more stable for now also I will upload a dios-mios package for you with dm 2.10 dml (if I can find it), discex v0.3, and my autodiscex batch files(put these in the "games" folder in the root of your hard drive or sd card) this will give you usb loader gx with dm 2.10 setup

I would like to know which bugs are in r1218 which are not in r1217.
users didn't correctly reports bugs, they just tell that something doesn't work for them without telling which revision started having that issue.

Do not link to DIOSMIOS(Lite) packages in public.
here are the official links:

I thank you cyan for the dm link I went to googlecode but the download page didn't work and also my windows bat scripts are very easy to use just drag the ISO over the bat file to convert to discex format: normal, compressed, auto-align. There is a bat script for every discex command

thanks.
I thought it might load faster, it use habprot to load the config file instead of reloading cIOSes.
It all depend with your setup and settings. you can boost the loading time if you understand how the launching process works. but it can become slower if you don't set it up correctly.

For GameCube ISO :
DiscEx is not needed. Do not compress or extract them !
just use Full 1:1 Raw ISO. they work better. (some games doesn't work if they are not 1:1)

One suggestion is to by default is to have the emu nand set to the sneek directory and maybe have a screen upon resetting the settings to default and when the settings file is created initially to select between having sneek(sd) or uneek(USB) set up also I think you should have an ahbprot version and a cups version.

I use priiloader to autoboot usblgx so ahbprot doesn't always work the best

Also my 1 TB drive is set to 32kb cluster size for dm and compressed loads faster for me than 1:1 if I select the compressed option in hard drive settings
