Homebrew USB Loader GX on vWii with Priiloader fix

I have a noob question: I have a wad shortcut for the newest unfixed version of usb loader gx. Can I reuse that for this fixed version?

Yes, but I don't think you even need this one anymore, as USB Loader GX just had a major update, fixing this and adding A LOT of stuff, you can find it here. Don't forget to update d2x cIOSes too, as that fixes some bugs related to WiiWare and other stuff.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'm gonna wait for the full release then as it says test_version. And I assume the same wad would then work for this one as well? And to the cIOSes, do I just overwrite the current ones in the cIOS Installer?

Yes, as long as the USB Loader GX folder inside the apps folder is the same name as the official release, the wad should work fine. And yup, just overwrite the old ones, if you wanna make sure you're doing it right, you can follow the Wii Hacks Guide tutorial, but instead of installing beta1, install beta2.

I seem to keep running into issues with the updated version. The ui seems to be fixed, but wii games can’t load in for some reason, referring to failing usb initialize. I have my games on my SD card, does that make a difference somehow? I haven’t had this problem with games before switching to this new version, and If I go back to the latest release of usb gx this issue goes away, but of course the ui problems return

its so weird that I tried this more recent usb loader, but the bugged channels screen are still as they were
I'm not sure what I could have done wrong?
uninstalling priiloader completely makes it look normal again

what I did was:
tried an usb loader gx with aba mod
tried the latest usb loader gx update

what I did was basically delete the usb loader folder from the vwii apps and put the new one

ok so, the next day I wrote this... they actually released a version that fixes this old issue
a huge thank you to all the workers of this project!! Im very picky with layouts and such, so this is a big relief;

just in case someone doesn't know and might be here, this is the update that fixed it: v4.0-r1282

The new version also worked for me (no longer need to use the older version). Hit the same "device error" issue as last time, but once I toggle the sd card setting it reliably works now
