I have USB Loader GX running on vWii homebrew on my Wii U. Not sure this is the best place for the post.

The USB drive has ~15 games and they were all working. I played Fishing Resort a few times on this system and it worked just fine.

Now when I launch Fishing Resort, it starts and shows the logo screens (Ban Dai, etc.) but then when I get to the "Press any button to continue" screen it gets stuck in a weird loop. I've tried pushing each button, and it looks like it's going to continue to the profile screen, but instead it reloads the "Press any button to continue" screen. I tried powering off and on again, and tried enabling debug but I don't see any output.

Any suggestions? That was my favorite game and I've actually got a ton of progress that I'd hate to lose!

Thanks!

Bumping thread. This is still happening and would love some input if anyone can help. I also tried to install WiiFlow on vWii and that actually doesn't launch any game correctly. Not sure it was a good test.

The Fishing Resort game works on my old Wii hardware still. Just checked that this morning. Specifically I plugged the same USB HD into the Wii, started it up, launched HB channel, USB Loader GX, and chose Fishing Resort. Played like normal, had the three saved games available, and everything was awesome.

I'd like to get this working on the Wii U so I can put the old Wii back in a bin.

I have a theory that the game works on the Wii U up until the point that it's looking for saved data from NAND. At that point it fails, and loops back to the beginning. Not totally sure on this because I'm 99% sure the game did work at least once since importing the save data using EmuNAND.

Related: One thing I didn't mention is that I used EmuNAND to move saved data from old Wii to new Wii U:

Looking back at that thread, I think I'll try SavegameManagerGX. Does this look like a good video to follow?

does it work without using the emuNAND save feature?
start the game and let it save to vWii normally, without trying to load your save from Wii.

If the game start, and doesn't loop back strangely (no idea what you mean), and loop only when enabling that option, then the issue is related to savegame redirection to emuNAND.
If you enable the savegame redirection, only use "partial" to redirect only the savegame and not ALL the emuNAND content (mii, settings, wiimote sync, etc.), because Wii and vWii are different.
if you set "full" to emuNAND, it'll expect to find a vWii emuNAND content, but will get Wii files instead.

if you want to use emuNAND, I suggest you do that :
On Wii, Use SavegameManagerGX to backup from EmuNAND to external (extract saves from emuNAND to SD:/backup)
on vwii, create a new NAND backup using USBLoaderGX features option.
on vWii, use SavegameManagerGX to restore backups from sd:/backup to vWii emuNAND folder.

If it's not related to emuNAND :
be sure you are not using d2x v10 r53, which has issues with some games.
if you have r53, replace with r52 instead.
you can verify by using syscheck guide in my signature. then look at your report, slot 249 to 251.
