Flash drives are noted for not exactly being the best for the Wii, some work, some don't. Also, a sysCheck would be nice.

syscheck is already posted.
SSD might have the same issue than flash drives (being itself flash chipset, not rotating magnetic plates), it depends which usb controller and interface it's using.

if you have black screen, it can be a lot of things :
USB not detected (the most common issue), try another device to know if the problem is your device or your settings.
wrong USB Port
not enough USB power
wrong Video mode
Imported games : use games from the SAME region than your console. Don't expect other region to work correctly when it's easilly fixed by using the proper region.
bad ISO, path, partition format, etc.
