I'm running 6.2, followed the ReiNX guide pretty much exactly, and formatted my card Fat32. I can use Tegra to run ReiNX payload and get to the splash screen and send me into Horizon no problem. I've "installed" the USB driver through Tegra, and downloaded AluminumFoil to prep for USB installs through tinfoil. But I get a message on the switch when running tinfoil saying waiting for USB, and a message on Aluminum saying "Unable to open usb connection." I've noticed that the USB stays connected and recognized by computer and Zadig (tried installing through that too) and Tegra while in RCM mode and when Hekate is running, but once I launch ReiNX, the connection gets severed, and I can no longer find the driver in Windows 10 device manager.

I don't REALLY care about getting banned, but obviously I'm not incredibly psyched about expediting the process by fumbling around and installing the kitchen sink. I could switch to ExFAT, but I'd need to use the ChoiDuJour to update since I stupidly thought updating to 6.2 before starting all this would give it to me automatically. So, I still have that in my back pocket, I guess, but I'd rather keep everything in Fat32 if possible and try to get some backups working. I also don't really know exactly how running Atmosphere would work. (Is it safe to just delete everything off my SD and put the Kosmos pack on there? Run tinfoil? Try it that way? Is there a point to that if tinfoil won't recognize it in ReiNX?) And by safe, I mean: I don't want to brick my Switch.

Sorry, I got kind of confused by all the guides and updates that change the guides and whether ExFAT is evil or widely corruptable or actually okay and fine and your friend.

Which usb driver did you install? Their is one for RCM + pushing payloads and a different one for tiofoil/aluminium foil

# Windows Instructions:
# 1. Download Zadig from https://zadig.akeo.ie/.
# 2. With your switch plugged in and on the Tinfoil USB install menu,
# choose "List All Devices" under the options menu in Zadig, and select libnx USB comms.
# 3. Choose libusbK from the driver list and click the "Replace Driver" button.
# 3.5. pip3 install pyusb (run this in command prompt)
# 4. Run this script

Step 2,3 and 3.5

I only get my mouse and my keyboard under "list all devices" when Switch is on and I'm in tinfoil, but uhh...the pip3 install pyusb is not something I've done unless that was what AluminumFoil was supposed to take care of (I noticed: before it came out, people were doing python stuff). I don't know what guide this is from, but maybe that's the problem, huh? I'll try it tomorrow. I'm fried tonight, lol.

I'm also using USB-C to USB female > usb male to male. Maybe that's messing with it? I was going to order the right cable over Amazon tomorrow.

not sure, another alternative is to try goldleaf (a successor to tinfoil) which just came out recently

Boom! Got it. So, the USB cable adapter situation definitely was a major issue. When I connected the direct line, suddenly all my options in Zadig came up. At that point, Tinfoil and AF could pick the USB connection up. That being said, Tinfoil couldn't successfully get me the NSP through USB (Got 0/0MB at 0MB/sec thing that never budged), so I tried Goldleaf and it worked like a dream! Mwah. Mwah. Thank you Adran, love you all. Hope someone can stumble upon this if in a similar situation and find their answer!
