Hacking USB HDD problem

Ok... I am lost. Here is my problem and I gave up last night.

My lens went out on my Wii so I decided to get a HDD. I got a Hitachi 1 TB. Thought I might need to update my Wii and did so following the Sticky: Modify ANY Wii 4.2 & below and I am using USB Loader GX. Now the drive mounts and it shows the two games I have on the HDD but when I go to play them the HDD will not transfer the Game. I did try to Transfer a game from my Wii to the HDD and it worked perfectly as far as the transfer goes but it will not play the games all I get is a Black Screen.

I was thinking of Running "Pimp my Wii" to see if I needed to update a IOS or something. Any advise?

try a different usb loader app, apparently gx has some nasty bugs. configurable usb loader or wiiflow seem to be the most popular ones.
