Ive had my USB Hard drive for almost over a year now. Seagate Freeagent Go 320GB. I use it for me wii. This is the second time it malfunctioned. At first is wasnt being recognized, so i bought a new enclosure an d put it on. It worked for a while and two days ago in messed up again. Now it wont Power on AT ALL. In the computer or the wii. Is it fried or what? It has a small power socket on the side. Is the USB not suppling enough power? do i need a power adapter in conjunction with the USB device?

Have you tried a different USB cable? The one you're using isn't cut or anything, is it? I'm fairly certain the Freeagent Go series doesn't use extra power... Also, I think my friend has one of these... Isn't it full of crappy software that tries to run and encrypt your files?

I'm really not sure what the problem might be. It could be dead.

the original enclosure wouldn't be recognized by the computer or wii. So i bought a new enclosure with its on usb adapter and it has a power socket all of that is on the enclosure itself
