Gaming "USB Device Not recognized" error

I need help fixing my USB drive cause my computer wont recognize it. It has my class project on it that ive been working on for the past 5 days and the only copy I have is on the driver. Is there any way of recocvering my USB drive?

If you guys need to know im running on a Dell computer with Windows 7 and 32 bit I believe.

First thing to try, another USB port. Second thing to try, another computer. If the latter doesn't work, it's often the USB drive itself that's at fault. You can try a data recovery program, but if the drive has died then you're SOL.
