I suggest the same brand. Sandisk. Samsung would be a close second. You want a read/write speed close to 100mbs or above.

Go with samsung or sandisk most high compacity cards come formated as GPT partition scheme and it needs to be MBR minitool partition wizard can change GPT to MBR and just format it as fat32 32kb and it will work. Oh and get the largest compacity card you can get they fill up fast im using a 1.5tb sd card. Oh and minitool can delete any unallocated space on the card most high compacity cards come with unallocated space.

I take this opportunity to ask, is having a higher read/write speed okay or would it be overkill? I'm thinking of upgrading, at the moment I have an sd that has a speed of 130Mb/s and I saw that there is a card that goes up to 200, I was wondering if there were actually any differences

It won't matter much as the Switch can only read max speeds around 100mbs.
