Hacking Upgrading Acekard Firmware

I need some help. A friend of mine updated his DSi and now can't use his Acekard. I wanted to updated the firmware for him by loading this program http://filetrip.net/f18393-AceKard-2i-firmware-1-4-1.html from my Acekard then switching the Acekards and let the program update his DSi. Unfortunately it didn't work.

If anyone can help me out that would be great.

To be able to upgrade his cart by switching from yours, you have to use the DSL file on a DS Lite.
